Functions as promised! Gen4 drives are not necessary unless you explicitly need them.

Only fast for a couple seconds during a photo transfer. After that it slows way down. The 2TB version stays fast during an entire copy of photos

i cloned hard drive to this and tested it and worked once, after that it died and has info on it, it is not recognized now by computer, disc management or device manager.

If you need disk cloning when you install this, look elsewhere. The included copy of Acronis is incredibly slow, and too dumb to recognize the drive if your existing c: drive isnt already from Western Digital. Samsungs come with better software.

I like the 2TB capacity and like it. Easy to install and excellent performance at a good price. I replaced the old 512GB with this 2TB, which is the smart decision for this year so far.

After watching a few install videos, this was easy to put in my PS5. I did buy heat sink kit to ensure temp was not an issue.
