It isnt really all that soft, but the quality and sturdiness of the rope is great for macrame.

Very unhappy with the quality of this rope. I had purchased the 3mm from this company and could not say enough good things about that purchase. The 4mm roll I received is a different story. When I started to cut my lengths, there was one cut length and lost about a yard of rope. Then as I am macrame get I am noticing that there a lot of lose threads. I had to finish the project has it is a Christmas gift and there is only 2 days left til Christmas and can’t order more and start over. Still thinking I might return the rest if the unused portion as I’m not proud that I am giving my projects as gifts and the quality is not good. I’m not happy about writing this review ona negative note but want you to beware.

I would buy this over and over. It is the best for quality and cost, but it STINKS. It has a very moldy smell. It took me unwnding it and taking it off the spool and letting it sit in the sun for a week to get it to the point I could work with it without itching and sneezing. It made me sad. It is really great cord.

Love this cord. Used it to make a rope basket and wrapped candles and other crafts for decoration purposes. Very pleased.
