I was skeptical but the cut on the key was on point. No friction felt when turning the key to the on position. The key works great.

Everyone in the riding group told me its a good idea to have a spare just in case your key breaks/gets lost. It was the best 17 bucks I ever spent in my life!!!! it will cost about 150 bucks if someone has to come to your house to make you a key from scratch as it happened to a friend with the same bike I have. It cost 4 bucks to have it cut so for about 21 dollars I have a life saver ready to go.

Nice key blank. It is a match for my 2000 Yamaha Road Star 1600xv.

It was exactly the key I needed for my Yamaha SCR950, had it cut at ACE Hardware for free and it worked like a charm!

This is a simple blank OEM key for Yamaha motorcycles. I can say for sure it is correct for a 2009 R6, and should be correct for many other Yamaha bikes as well. Find a small local hardware store or locksmith and they should be able to cut it to match your original for $2-3.
