It has grooves for position in multiple positions. I didn’t think this would be important but it is awesome. This company is to be commended on a well thought out, well made and useful product. This is a product that will last and stand up to daily use. I just purchased my second one. I use my IPad a lot and just wore the old one out. This new one 4 years later is the same as I had before. It was so good I was willing to buy another and I bought one for my husbands IPAD too.
