Good value for the money comes with a pre-applied thermal paste on the cooler (it’s a decent cooler which will make your system up and running fairly cool and it’s not that loud too). The hiccups comes when i stress the cpu too much. Highly recommended if you’re on a budget.

This CPU is great. Its a 6 core with decent IPC, a great stock cooler included and it is unlocked, so you can overclock it no problem. I got it for only $200, and Im impressed so far, I cannot find a way to push it above 90% CPU usage, opening numerous games, browsers, files, apps, and monitoring software was no problem. Its great at gaming, and since its so good at multitasking, streaming would be no problem either. My only complaint is that the stock cooler is kind of difficult to install. If you know what youre doing itll take 5 mins, if you dont know what youre doing itll probably take a bit more. Id recommend installing Ryzen Master for reliable monitoring and some other features. Ryzen works best with fast RAM so try to get at least DDR4-2666 dual rank for optimal performance. Of course, its not mandatory, just helpful.

For the money, this is a really hard processor to beat. I bought it to replace an Intel Quad-core processor which was about 10 years older and which cost nearly 3 times as much back then as this one did when I bought it a few weeks ago. I have it matched up with an MSI X570-a MB, and 32gb of DDR4 memory, and Im glad I chose to go this way. This relatively inexpensive CPU is somewhat faster than my old Pentium I-7 on operations using a single CPU core. Where it really shines is multitasking. I do a lot of video recoding, and I am currently running two seperate recoding operations as well as email and web browsing, and havent really seen any slowdown in any of them. If I had been on my old system, it would have slowed things down to point where the browsing and email would have been unusable, and the decoding times would have increased very substantially. Needless to say, I highly recommend this CPU. I am not a gamer, so the score on it is basically borrowed from other reviewers. Check those reviews if you want more specifics regarding gaming.

I primarily got it for gaming which it did help with (upgraded from a 1300x) which gave me significant boost in a couple of titles. On the side I also like to edit though and my render times are down to 25-35 minutes depending how large the video size is. Overall Im I glad I bought it and at $160 a cpu that has better single core performance then the 1700 is pretty amazing at this price. (1700 is better for editing though)
