AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12-core, 24-thread unlocked desktop processor with Wraith Prism LED Cooler

I managed to get it from Amazon by watch-dogging the page, but it took some effort because it barely stays up for a few minutes before people snap whatever stock there is up. Hopefully the supply pipe will iron itself out so others arent left just staring at pictures!

Installed this CPU on Thursday, Computer ran fine until Sunday evening. After playing Tomb Raider for 20 mins the monitors shut off and the computer never booted again. After troubleshooting and swapping the CPU for a Ryzen 7 the system booted again. Now because Amazon do not have any of these CPUs left Im having to fight with AMD warranty and these guys are about as useful as a chocolate teapot. 3 days of back and forth emails with AMD and they are still yet to actually approve the RMA. Amazons response to this was to buy another processor from the Amazon market place for $600+ and wait till next month to get it , what a joke !

Dont buy it for gaming. Its a mixed usage/productivity oriented CPU

As a typical PC gaming enthusiast, I am slowly upgrading my system as new components become available (and affordable for me). If you are reading this, you are probably thinking of components that will work without any problems, or maybe you are thinking of upgrading your system and not sure if things will work flawlessly. So below is my before and after setup.

Finally made the switch from Intel to AMD and I wish I wouldve done it sooner...this chip is an absolute beast...can handle just about anything you throw at it

This was a massive upgrade over my previous i7-6700K and I dont think another upgrade will be required for many years...or at least thats what Im hoping.

After 3 months, Amazon still cant seem to get the product titles correct for these new CPUs. Fortunately, the description details matched what I wanted. This was in fact the AMD Ryzen 9 3900x which is a 12-core processor (NOT 8-core as the current description suggests).
