I was extremely happy to see that a new bios update made the 5000 series processors compatible with my old x370-f and ab350 motherboards. Major upgrade from my old Ryzen 5 2600. Now if only I could find an affordable gpu.

Upgraded from ryzen 3600(a fantastic cpu and would recommend) that I got 3 years ago . Updated bios of my b450 tomahawk max. Installed ryzen 5900x cpu everything is smoother and faster so far. Using same gpu, ram and aio temp about 45c. Tested lwith cinebench 23 multicore got over 20000 from about 8900(with 3600) Hope to keep this for maybe a few years then do a full new build

Its so hot that I even dont have any chance to buy one, its sold out everywhere.

I successfully installed the AMD Ryzen 9 5900x cpu onto an ASUS Crosshair VI Extreme. Note that I went from an AMD Ryzen 5 1600 to this much more powerful cpu with no difficulty on an older X370 chipset motherboard. AMD had updates to both the onboard chipset as and the BIOS to allow the series 9 5900 to work on a legacy motherboard. It took AMD a while to get it done, but my computer runs well with no issues. I have read some others have had problems updating from a Ryzen 1000 series to a 5000 series, so do the updates to the onboard chipset firmware and BIOS before pulling out your old cpu, and definately dont get rid of it until you know your motherboard will work with a higher series cpu.

I received this product, it was all closed with what seems to be original packaging and tape, however, when I opened the product up, the sides were all ground down. I have since installed it in my computer and it seems to be working but I’m not a happy camper about the wear on the heat pad itself. Hope it was actually a new product.
