AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-core, 24-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor

This is a good chip! I waited a long time to get it due to the shortage and scalpers. I refused to pay scalper prices, no matter how long I had to wait, and got it for msrp. No one should buy from scalpers. When you do, you make the situation bad for everyone else. With that said, msrp is also too high. No chip should be 500+ dollars, but it is what it is, and its better than buying from a scalper.

Goodbye Intel

Lost TBs of data trying to troubleshoot this CPU. Double checked compatibility with my mobo before I ordered. Spent over 4 hours trying to boot into windows before I realized the CPU was totally bricked. Made sure the bios were updated and default settings. Looking to get a replacement. Not sure Im going to order another 5900x.

It meets the requirements of the specs and does all the work faster. But the price goes lower and lower so Maybe Ill buy it when it gets to its lowest.

Its absurd that with similar RAM, same GPU, pcie 4.0 vs 3.0 ssd, and this cpu vs a 5930k on x99 instead 5900x on x570 crosshair viii dark hero is such a large difference. Not only is it wickedly faster it actually sleeps properly without waking itself up every time for 6 years.

What a step up from a 2600x. Simply amazing in a Tomahawk B550 with 32Gb CAS 16 RAM. I toyed with the thought of a 3700x to keep the cooling demand down but I am very glad I chose this cpu in the end. I use with a 360mm radiator and it idles at 30C or so. Worked fine in a Tomahawk B550 in May 22 with no need for BIOS flashing

I recently built a new pc and replaced everything except for the ryzen 7 3700x processor. I had problems with the 64Gb of new ram that I installed my pc from booting normally. I had to boot twice before the operating system would load. I tried everything I could think of to fix this including upgrading the bios but nothing worked. I then suspected it could be the processor not being able to handle the ram. So I upgraded the processor to the ryzen 9 5900x and this solved the problem. My pc now boots just fine. I can really see the difference in general pc performance as well. All my programs work much faster and basic tasks like backing up my hard drive now go lightening fast. Im very happy with this upgrade and highly recommend this processor.
