Arctic Silver 5 AS5-3.5G Thermal Paste

Bought this for use during motherboard replacement on Dell Latitude D630 laptop. Worked great. Follow the instructions for applying to your specific CPU chip. Havent done rigorous temp measurements to verify manufacturers heat transfer claims, but did install a couple of monitoring utilities on the laptop. Monitored for a few days after the repair and the CPU and video chip temps have remained well within safe limits.

I cannot say enough about this thermal compound. I not only used this for my new i7-4790K gaming rig, I also went back and applied it to my old Phenom II x6 1090T gaming rig. In both cases, the temperatures amazingly low - I cant get my old rig to tick over 44C, and the new rig hasnt come above 42C. If youre going to drop a couple of grand or more to build a new computer, spending a few extra bucks on this will go a long, long way towards a cool and happy system.

Since I was on IT school we use this product, be aware the material does not conduct the electronic components, you nee to be careful the during installing, make sure apply this on the right surface to exaust the heat.

I recently upgraded my processor chip and used this thermal compound with no problems. I put the syringe with the unused portion in a small ziplock bag for when I need it in the future.

I always buy this thermal paste for a wide variety of applications on computers for myself or clients, and Ive never had a problem. Im sure there are newer products that would cool the CPU half a degree better but so far I have not had any problems and have used this hundreds of times.

I had heard from many friends this was one of the best thermal compounds. It spreads easy and it repaired a PS3 that i was receiving a YLOD on.
