> 3 dayIve owned apple AirPods/apple wired headphones for years and always told myself I would buy over the ear headphones when I found one that finally fit my standards. Safe to say that these ones did. The first thing I noticed was how easily they connect to my iPhone with the app. Anything that does not seem to be apple products I typically have to struggle to be able to connect to my phone properly but when you download the Bose music app and just set it up all you have to do to connect them is turn the bluetooth switch on and off! The second thing I noticed was the noise cancellation. Now with the quiet mode there are still some things that you are able to hear like people talking very loudly but all other small background noise is completely shutout. Almost everything is cutout when you are listening to something with the quiet mode on so that is a big plus! I would look into actual noise cancelling headphones that are specialized in only being noise cancelling if you are looking for something to completely shutout all noise no matter how loud. The sound quality is great and not stuffy at all, and it picks up small details in songs you normally would not hear unless straining to listen to. My only issue with the headphones is that when it comes to FaceTime and phone calls it does not automatically connect to my headphones & there are times on FaceTime where it cuts out the sound of the person I am speaking to and I have to change the audio output to speaker and back to the headphones. Very comfortable for long term wear but be wary when you put them around your neck without adjusting them as they may squeeze your throat a little. Other than that I would totally buy other Bose products from now on!

> 3 dayPurchased two, the white smoke and a black one, the first one worked as intended but the black one did not work at all: did not turn on, did not charge, even tried to connect them with the plug in cable (this option works even with the headphone turned off) and also did not worked. Very dissapointed, now I have to return the faulty unit but this process is a complete hassle for me. Go for the SONY WH-1000XM4

Greater than one weekFor a few years my only high end headphones were the original Bose QC35s. They had the best noise cancellation I had ever experienced to that point in my life, and worked quite well when flying on a plane. When the QC35 IIs came out, I didnt upgrade because the improvements were not significant enough for me. Then Bose introduced the 700 series headphones. I considered those, but didnt like the design. It was at that time I made the move to Sony and purchased the WH-1000XM4s. Those are still my favorite headphones. They have the best noise cancellation I have ever experienced, and they also sound great when listening to music. When these new Bose QC45s came out and I had the chance to try them, I jumped at the opportunity. The design is very similar to the QC35 (which I prefer to the 700), and Bose has also switched to using USB-C. After using the QC45 for a week, I have to say that I still prefer my Sony headphones. The noise cancellation on the Sony is still better, although the Bose is much closer now (The QC45 is a definite improvement over the QC35). The QC45 add an audio passthrough feature which the QC35 didnt have. I have tried it and it seems to work well. The battery life is also a little better. As far as listening to music, I cant tell much difference between the two Bose models. I still prefer the Sony in this respect as well. The QC45 does support Bluetooth 5.1 (compared to 4.2 for the QC35). This is definitely part of the reason for the better battery life, since Bluetooth 5.1 is more power efficient. I was hoping that the QC45 would be a huge improvement over the QC35, but overall the changes are just incremental. I am still happy that I made the switch to Sony. Bose is going to have to try harder if they want me to switch back.

> 3 dayThese headphones work great, the sound is very good and they’re comfortable. However they aren’t completely noise canceling as you expect them to be, you still hear some sound unless you turn the volume up.

> 3 dayWeve tried MANY different noise cancelling headphones and these by FAR take the cake. Without even turning them on, just wearing them, makes a huge difference all on its own. I love these so much and now my kids will be getting their own set since they like to steal mine. The sound quality is great, its easy to use and they definitely help amazingly with sensory issues.
