As a veteran of the days when having a 10 Mb hard drive was a REALLY big deal, I feel kind of whiney complaining about getting near the end of capacity in my 512 Gb NVME drive. But, its not me writing drivers of a couple hundred Mb, so Ill just continue to make sure Ive got enough storage of the right type. That 512 Gb NVME drive is by FAR the greatest single step in improvement in the performance in my otherwise kinda mundane low-TDP i3 ITX machine. But, as mentioned earlier, I was running out of space and opted to double storage for a manageable price at the same time I was upgrading from W7 to W10. Thats all done now, and I even salvaged the 512 Gb unit in an NVME adapter that sits on the PCI bus, so its at least in the same ballpark as the one on the back of the motherboard. All of the Windows transition stuff is now done, the MB is back in the MITX case, and the fan is barely audible as I type this. My computing life is nearly back to normal, where its just a tool instead of a big honking chunk of work. And did I mention there was not even a single issue with the Crucial 1Tb drive - no funky pre-driver before the OS could even see it, no nothing but plug it in, tighten the screw, and start loading software. Ahhhh!

For those who dont know, this is the latest in solid state memory. One whole Terabyte is contained in this little drive.

Sí que es verdad que 1GB de capacidad se nota, pero para lo que vale, lo difícil que es de instalar (muy muy difícil) y la supuesta mejora brutal de rendimiento que no es tal, no sé si merece del todo la pena

I remember how impressed I was when I booted from my first SSD, the computer booted up in around 20 seconds which was very impressive and a massive step up from the minute or so it took to boot from a HDD. I never thought we would get a performance increase in storage so soon after the advent of cheap SSDs but here it is. The drive is installed in an onboard M.2 slot on my Gigabyte Aorus Z370 K3 motherboard and booting from this NVMe drive takes around 6 seconds. Mileage will probably vary using an M.2 expansion card or external M.2 caddy but if you have a dedicated M.2 slot on your motherboard then Im really not sure what youre waiting for. Take the plunge, you wont regret it.

Ho montato questa SSD su un ultrabook HP Envy 13 il quale monta di serie con una SSD da 250 Gb.
