DeoxIT D100L-25C Precision Needle Applicator, More Than A Contact Cleaner, 25 mL, Pack of 1

This purchase was a restock. Im a retired commercial broadcast and instrumentation engineer. Ive been repairing all types of electronics from consumer to state of the art comercial test equipment since the early 70s. Ive been using Caig products since the early 1980s so about 30 years. It was first recomended to me by John Fluke Company for use on decade switches on an AC calibrator. (Not saying they recomend it now, just that they did then.) Since then Ive used Cramolin Red as this used to be called for countless applications. It is THE ONLY product I have ever seen that would satisfactorily clean up a noisy position potentiometer on an analog oscilloscope. (Gives instant feedback about how well it worked by smooth trace movement. Noisy potentiometer causes eratic trace control). When it came time to refurbish my Nakamichi 1000 recorder I used this to clean and treat the slide potentiometers, switches and edge connectors. I use a tiny drop on the contacts and switch on any flashlight I own. No more variable intensity. Caig makes other products for other applications. Ive used many of them. But this is the one Ive used most. It hasnt let me down in 30 years. For those technically inclined: How it works. Cramolin Red (Deoxit) is specially fomulated not to adhere to itself. Meaning it easily reduces to monomolecular thickness under contact pressure. The liquid itself has 10 x 10 to the twelth ohms per cm. But that resistance reduces to almost nothing at monomoleculat thickness it reduces to under contact pressure. In the meantime it desolves oxides and contaminents so they can be wiped away. It leaves a very light protective coating that blocks further contact oxidation. Be aware that it isnt a universal solvent. There was an older contact lubricant known as Rycon that with time leaves a wax like coating on contacts that must be removed mechanically (Pencil eraser). Deoxid wont remove it. But for treating clean or untreated contacts this stuff simply cant be beat. Doc

Without a doubt, DeoxIT is by far the best product of its kind available. Ive used it many times to eliminate the noise in old potentiometers ... saving untold dollars in repair costs and probably saving lots of gear from the scrap heap since many of these were obsolete parts. THis particular supplier had a very competitive price and very prompt shipping.

This stuff works, Over the years it has made PCs with intermittent issue start working flawlessly. Just apply to every connector, socket, plug, addin card etc.

I have used CAIG DeoxIT cleaners for a long time. I am an electronic engineer and I have used it with radios, gadgets, outdoor electrical connections, and many other electrical contacts. This product is the best in cleaning and restoring just about any electrical connection including those which show signs of corrosion. The needle applicator makes it easier to direct it to small areas than using a spray can.

Having an electronics repair and refurbish business this allows us to fix tons of things, saves us money on parts and basically prints money for us. A few drops and an acid brush and your USB mini connections are clean. you always wonder why your cables stop working, corrosion and oxidation is why. Looking at most cables/connecters under the microscope you find theyre covered in black or green crud. This washes it away almost instantly. Instead of replacing connectors that have no physical damage often times we can restore them to OEM levels of functionality. Always keep some with you and be the hero.

I have been using the bottle with brush applicator for almost a decade. And when it was about to run out, I got this to refill the brush bottle and at the same time have a syringe-like applicator for delivering into tight connector spots like in surface-mount interfaces. I use this in tandem with the usual pressured spray can contact cleaner first, then apply this one. The contacts are maintained at high-efficiency maximizing signal transfer and preventing intermittent problems due to poor connections. My go to choice for connector maintenance and reconditioning.

Saved my old Super Nintendo! Applied a small amount to the cartridges and the cartridge slot. Used a small brush and q-tips to remove oxidation and excess. Nintendo started right up and games played without hesitation.

Cleaned three 70+ year old automotive switches and now they are working perfect.
