DEWALT Tape Measure, 100-Foot, Self-Lock, Solid Chrome Finish, Rubber Grip (DWHT34036L)

like the title says, would not respool after first use.. Could be just bad luck getting one with a defect but I doubt it.

The retrieval is very difficult to use. It skips and is hard to turn.

Had this for a year and it has been great. I finally needed it for measuring over 100 and when it got to 93 the tape came out of the case. It had been broken there since day 1. I love Dewalt but I will be replacing this with another brand.

Purchased it for a project, arrived on a Friday, used it on Saturday. 20 minutes of use and it broke in a freak accident. I was measuring a deck, and the tape fell between two deck boards (approx. 1/8 gap). It became stuck between the boards, and after ten minutes of trying to gently free it, the tape broke. I tried numerous methods to free it, even used two credit cards to act as guides to try and straighten it and wiggle if from the obstruction. But I applied just a bit too much pressure and it snapped. Finished up the project with a couple of 25 tape measures. I was definitely disappointed in the situation, but I cant blame it on the tape measure. Just one of those freak experiences. Hoping I can buy a replacement tape, but I havent researched it. Or I guess I could subtract 7-3 1/4 from every measurement (just kidding).

Overall a decent tape… except after every 12” the inch measurement resets to one. Instead of 14” this would read 2” and you would then have to look back to see the foot marker. Infuriating product. Not for professionals.

Need to measure a property line, then this is the tape.

Gift, easy to use. I was looking for a very thin stream lined silver one but could not find anywhere. Just wish this looked better to my eyes. But no problem with it

Tried it one time even after letting the tape out all the way it still would not roll up smoothly. The dirt window had to be forced to open. I have used used Dewalt tools for years but this one failed! I switched over to Milwaukee.

FAILED IN SPITE OF EASE OF USE ON PURCHASE DAY. THE NUMBERS HAVE MELTED AWAY AND THE THING WILL NOT RETRACT.

This product is a huge disappointment - it’s impossible to figure out. After the second time I used it, it malfunctioned and wouldn’t retract. It’s clunky and heavy and is so difficult to manipulate. I am I. The process of moving - which is stressful in and of itself - so I needed a tool that would make life easier. This did the opposite.
