> 3 dayI bought it to use on dog hair that accumulates on the stairs. Theres an outlet downstairs located near the bottom of the stairs, and with the addition of a 30 extension cord I can get the stairs in one go without having to stop half way up and plug into a different outlet. The cord length of the appliance is reasonable, I just wanted it longer. It has good suction power and works well for its intended purpose. Measuring the current draw with a P3 Kill-A-Watt meter shower that with 120V line voltage the vacuum pulls 4.97 amps with a clean filter. That drops down to 3.98 if I hold my hand over the air inlet for a few seconds. The amp rating in the add copy is put there by marketing and their number is probably a peak startup current measured when the unit is first switched on. Do bigger numbers sell more units? The vacuum is much better than a cordless vac in duration (naturally) and suction power both. The built in crevice tool is a nice feature that allows me access to much tighter places than it would otherwise be able to reach. So far the crevice tool is holding up well for me. The power switch is fairly easy to operate and stays firmly in position when you release it. The dirt cup and filter are easy to take off, clean, and put back on. Its small size and light weight make using it a breeze. And that brings me to the only down side. I wish it had exhaust air deflectors to direct the air coming out of it to the rear instead of the sides. At times the exhaust air will blow the very dirt and pet hair away from the nozzle one is trying to capture. Especially in small spaces like the stairs. It doesnt get hot, but it does get quite warm after running for a while. Not enough for me to be a concerned or worry about it. This is pretty much par for the course of any corded vacuum cleaner. I got the unit in January 2021 and today is 2021/August/30. Its still going strong after a number of 15-20 minute weekly use cycles.

Greater than one weekI purchased this corded handheld vacuum over a year ago and I love the powerful motor that gets the job done. Its great for furniture and much better than the battery operated units in my opinion. I highly recommend it.

> 3 dayI read some of the reviews complaining that this item was lacking power. Well, I found that this vac performs great. Plenty of power and easy to use. Much better than battery operated versions.

> 3 dayWhat a great purchase! I am a 67 year old, retired apartment dweller that likes to keep my place clean and I just wasnt happy with the way my regular vacuum cleaned using the accessories, so I purchased the Scorpion. The first day I went crazy around my apartment. I pulled all the furniture to the center of the room and went to sweeping around the baseboards. I had to clean out the dust filter three times just in the living room! This little vacuum has tons of suction and picked up stuff I never knew was there. Then I did all the furniture. I usually drag the shop vac out to sweep the car, but no more. The Scorpion did a great job except the flip down nozzle is a little fat to reach down into some tight spots. That wasnt a big deal though. It sucked up gravel easily. I couldnt find anything wrong with this little vacuum. There were some comments about the odor and smelling hot. Not to worry. I used mine for a total of three hours the first weekend and that smell went away after a short time. I would guess it was just an over abundance of lube on the motor bearings or something. Others complained of the noise. Noise equals power. It isnt THAT bad. The cord is long enough for any job around the house, but not handy for storage. I coil it up and stick it through the handle. What hasnt been stated is that it has a place on the back of the handle so the unit can be hung on a hook. That is pretty handy. I am going to purchase extra filters because I had to dust the first one out several times and rinsed it twice. Snapping in a clean one would save some time when you are into the cleaning mood as I seldom am!! I highly recommend the Scorpion. It came very close to 5 stars!!

Fredonyer it is!
Greater than one weekOddly enough, I went to buy a cordless vacuum and ended up with this one with a cord... Unpackaged it, saw a cord, reviewed my order thinking somebody other than me must have screwed up--you know, the stages of denial. Hardly worth time/$ sending it back for my mistake, so we started using it. I still remember the startup torque felt in my wrist when it was first turned on. The really cool thing is that when I turn it on today, the torque is the same as it was in 8/2016! If I had bought a cordless, doubt this would be the case... And likely, Id be spending this time researching cordless handheld vacuums (to replace the cordless one that no longer holds charge) instead of writing this review. (And Id be feeling guilt if someone happened to not dispose of the old unit battery correctly!) So... The cord is a little inconvenient, but we use this in an open area, so its not a big deal for us. I do a decent job maintaining it--knocking the dust out of the filter once in a while, and replacing the entire filter twice now... If you want a vacuum to last, maintaining it is important. Biggest concern is that the picture displayed of the same model vacuum sold today shows a transparent case--mind does not have this. The one I purchased is completely red. Id wonder what else is different if I were to purchase it again, but would prefer a transparent case that would help me know when it needs dumped out. Something technical to note is that mine has .7 Amps on the label--this equates to ~84 Watts. For comparison, the Dyson V7 is 100W, is cordless, and is ~$200... But Im not reviewing the Dyson as Ive never used it... Hope this helps--happy sucking!

> 3 dayI absolutely LOVE this Dirt Devil hand vac. Its powerful and worth every single penny. After spending a small fortune on cordless hand vacs that barely worked, I decided to go with a corded have vac. DIRT DEVIL is the way to go.
