> 24 hourI was so happy to get this vacuum!!! I’ve had a 500 pound Kirby my whole life that my kids always make fun of… I never knew what I was missing until I got this Dyson. Wow! I’m in love. This is so easy to use… and I can visually SEE the vacuum pulling the dirt out of my rug. Not to mention how easy it is to change it into a hand held vacuum and do my stairs! I’m simply amazed. I can maneuver this thing under my cabinets super easy too! It charges easily and stays charged a long time! I’m so happy with it. I put my old Kirby on the side of the curb. Lol Seriously…. Get one. It’s a life changer!

> 24 hourWhere to start, this is a BAD vacuum. Suction is so terrible, I kept passing over SAME strands of hair and dust collections again and again, turns out if you add ANYTHING to the vacuum any extension tube it comes with or its accessories the suction is GONE. I test and feel with my hand, quite good suction without anything attached, put just a brush and suction drops to nothing. Maneuverability is terrible, back and forth only. Every extension is stiff no joints does not permit movement. Corners and edges and this vacuum neither has power nor shape to clean there. MAX power overheats and the battery life on MAX is 3 minutes, no joke, in just 3 minutes only cleaned under the desk and from full battery went depleted. After depleting, I placed vac in the charger and already had 2 LEDs like it charged some instantly meaning the battery already having cell memory effect. Filter is cleaned and dust bin is empty after each use. Nothing to excuse it here, this is just a terrible vacuum.

> 24 hourI tried using a Dyson years ago when they came out. Great cordless vacuum, but you MUST hold down the on button for it to work, nor will it stay upright alone. Honestly, after all these years it has not changed much. I have carpel tunnel so having to hold an on button on gets painful after a few minutes. Not sure why it does not stand alone either, basic vacuums that cost less have this convenient feature. The positives: suction is fantastic and there are 2 settings. The vacuum does not make a lot of noise and is nice looking. It is lightweight and hangs on the wall, remember it does not stand by itself. The holding tank is a decent size too and cleaning it is simple enough. Unfortunately, because of my hands this is not the right vacuum for me. Did I mention the suction is the BEST?? Dyson needs to upgrade the simple things on this vacuum.

> 24 hourIve always preferred canister vacuums, because the wand and hose are much easier to move and maneuver, but it can be a pretty big pain to drain around the canister. The Dyson V8 solves that, because its basically just the wand portion of my canister vacuum without a cord or bulky canister unit. Along with the vacuum, you get several accessories: a wall-mounted dock, a crevice tool, a brush tool, an upholstery tool, and the powered floor attachment. The dock has two slots to store the crevice and brush tools, but theres no obvious place to store the upholstery attachment. The wall dock has a cable channel and clip to hold the included charging cable, so that you can just slot the vacuum into the mount for storage and charging. Unfortunately though, the cable isnt easily removable after you attach the dock to your wall, because the cable channel is on the backside of the dock. If you decide not to use the dock, then you can still recharge the vacuum by just plugging in the charging cable. Theres a switch to toggle between normal and high power mode and a momentary trigger switch to turn on the vacuum. The trigger does need to be held down to keep powering the vacuum, but fortunately, it doesnt take much strength to depress the trigger button. The V8 does not have a trigger lock, but a quick search on Amazon shows that there are a lot of third party options to add a lock if you want it. The V8 battery is rated for 40 minutes at normal power, but that drops to 25-35 minutes if youre using the powered floor attachment. In our usage, we found those numbers to be pretty accurate. Thats just enough runtime to vacuum the hardwood floors in our 3-bedroom house. If you turn on the high power mode, the runtime drops to just a few minutes. Unfortunately, the recharge time is 5 hours. You can buy an extra battery, but you wont be able to charge it in the wall dock, so youll also have to get an extra charging cord. Swapping batteries on the V8 also requires a screwdriver to release the battery. The V8 is a really nice vacuum overall, but the limited battery life makes it best to use with smaller spaces or as a secondary vacuum for cleaning up messes.

> 24 hourIt certainly has power .. you will notice it compared to other brands. But it 40 min battery last only 20 minutes if you use full power and takes a while to charge. I returned mine and got a corded one.
