I keep one in our truck, one or two in the kitchen, and keep them easy to access in any area (my shop) where an open flame is being used. Easy to grasp and remove from hanging storage, unfold and quickly deploy. I use one when Ive done some landscaping burns on our meadow for use in managing the work and having another fire snuffing tool at hand. Very effective.

I ordered this fire blanket and I keep it in my kitchen area. You never want to use it, but youll be prepared in case of need. Pull it out, place on fire, and stay safe and at ease. Every home should have at least one in their kitchen. I actually would like several more to put into each bedroom. This would be great to have in an emergency kit. Worth the investment for safety first.

Hopefully these are never needed. But taking them out of the bag and trying them out they are NOT itchy and are flexible and thick. They will definitely keep you safe for long enough that in case there is a fire you will have a few min to get out to a safe spot.

These fiberglass sheets are of good size and thickness, large enough to cover the body of an 8 year old child. They feel textured and itchy to the skin because of the material. I bought them as a precaution and the price seemed affordable to have a little security in case of a fire.

I hope to never have the opportunity to test this on an actual fire but I did take out and unfold a blanket and put it atop my range. Its large enough to smother a stovetop fire and feels thick and substantial. The best aspect of a fire blanket in comparison to a fire extinguisher is that the user is less likely to feel inhibited about using it as there is no extra mess or cleanup. I have encouraged many family members to purchase the same set of fire blankets that Ive just reviewed.

I recently purchased the Safety Fire Blanket for home use and I must say I am thoroughly impressed! You just never know when you are going to need something like this and it is a great addition to my emergency bag. Made of 100% glass fiber material, the fireproof quality is top-notch. I am confident that in the event of a fire, this blanket will effectively stop the spread of flames and reduce property damage. Not to mention, I can use it on myself if necessary, which makes me feel so secure. It seems very easy to use, just take a release strap in each hand and pull downwards and outwards over the area thats on fire. I have it hanging in my closet next to my emergency bag. I like that it comes in a bag to store it in. Knowing that the fire blanket undergoes strict quality inspection to ensure that each product is up to customer satisfaction makes me feel very confident that I am purchasing a safety product that can actually deliver as advertised. Overall, I highly recommend this product for anyone looking for a safety device that is easy to use and offers complete peace of mind in case of small fires.

I sure wish I had this 20 years ago! I stupidly almost burned our apartment down when I left something on the stove. When I saw this, I just had to get it. Hopefully, we will never have to use it, ever. For peace of mind, every household should have one or two. The material is woven, and it feels somewhat soft. When you first take it out of its bag, it does have a plasticky smell, but its not too bad. Naturally, of course I havent used it to say how good it is, and hopefully I wont find out! Again, every household use have one.

We have multiple fire extinguishers in our home but not all fires are the same. Some may respond better to other methods of extinguishing. Half of all structural fires in the United States start in the kitchen. According to the National Fire Protection Association US fire departments responded to an estimated average of 172,900 home structure fires per year started by cooking activities in 2014-2018. These fires caused an average of 550 civilian deaths, 4,820 reported civilian fire injuries, and more than $1 billion in direct property damage per year. A quick search on YouTube can demonstrate just how often cooks and kitchen workers do the absolute wrong thing when confronted by a kitchen fire. Spoiler: pouring water on a grease fire is a recipe for disaster. Along with an our fire extinguishers, a fire blanket can help add security to our cooking efforts. These are well packaged and small enough to fit in any kitchen. They are large enough to cover most home stoves. We keep one, along with extinguishers in our home, garage, and camper. Hopefully you’ll never need to use it but, if a fire breaks out it could be a lifesaver. Full Disclosure: I acquired this as a Vine user. While we pay nothing up front for products, it is counted as taxable income at the retail price. This generally means Vine members pay about 30% of retail in taxes. We take our reviewing seriously and endeavor to assess quality to the best of our abilities. As consumers we rely on other peoples reviews, so we try to return the favor. These fire blankets are excellent to have for emergencies in the house and car, namely small fires in places where theres quite a bit of room to maneuver, and no fire extinguisher handy. The blankets are easy to deploy and store compact in their provided pouch, which has a nice high visibility red material that is super durable. They do a great job of actually putting fire out, and they have clearly printed instructions, so even someone who has never used one can use it properly.
