Epson Home Cinema 3200 4K PRO-UHD 3-Chip Projector with HDR

At First, I will be honest, after reading a lot of reviews and having this show up brand new with 2 small pits and a scratch on a brand new lens with a premium price, I was a bit ...concerned. HOWEVER, I set it up anyway, (after using a new lens cloth I use for photography to wipe what I thought at first was maybe a small streak of oil or something from the manufacturing process). -Imean, it comes with a lens cap. O_o? How in the name of all that is holy or monstrous can you not perhaps be gentle with optics during assembly or handling or Even QC and not notice a pretty decent scratch on a brand new UHD projectors MAIN OUTPUT METHOD.? Ugh.. But, with all that said, I turned it on and tried to find any aberrations with the picture using various methods and all I got was delicious eye candy. And, as this projector gives you 3 settings of brightness, after switching to the already quiet, stock Medium setting to ECO, it was downright silent. ( Projector was set up -just- behind my head as well for testing purposes ). It is a Very bright, crisp and silent projector. The very first day I had it on and was focusing it, I did notice once the center was in perfect clear focus, the right bottom side of the screen was just slightly not. But, having used the Epson 9200 Pro and loving that for nearly 5 years, I gave this new beast a try. Somehow, after 4 hours of use on the first day, the second day I had a hard time trying to find the once a little softer parts of the screen. * I have Zero Idea if burn-in applies to projectors of this sort with the sensor or other elements, but the slightly softer right bottom side cleared up and all I got was an extremely beautiful and engaging 4K picture with wonderful contrast and an extremely quiet and quick auto iris for even deeper blacks. ~Joy~ I ran through a bunch of basic tests using both video and Xbox One X games and just got lost in the detail and rendering of what the console and Projector are capable of. It is, for sure, a treat for the eyes. Current screen is matte white, 100 at about 11ft (in a light controlled room), but zoomed as large as it could go just to check pixels and it was still crisp and clear and looked like a 100 , 200LB 4K led display. . . but this you can throw in a large backpack and not hire a crew to move it. ~ Also Joy ~ SO, in short, I have no regrets purchasing this and am still sort of in awe of the overall quality upgrade. Im still a bit unsure about the process of out-the-door QC at that particular plant, but truth be told, ~ Unlike a camera lens Receiving light Into it, perhaps shooting light Out of a lens at a distance of 10 - 15+ ft onto a screen/wall is a completely different animal. And perhaps Epson knows this. (?) Thankfully, and weirdly, it does not effect picture. No idea why. But, I do start my new job as a Rocket Surgeon soon so maybe will have some answers then. I have no plans to return it as it otherwise works flawlessly so far. So even with the slight blemish, shes a keeper ;)

I upgraded from the Epson 2150 (1080p and 2500 brightness), and instantly noticed a difference in brightness. This is a 4k projector, but its technically only a half-4k, since it shifts the image one pixel over every other frame to make the upgraded image -- and 4k technically is 4x 1080p, not 2x -- but that said almost nobody is going to notice anyways, and this is an upgrade from the 1080p -- just know its not true 4k. There are a couple of additional nice things on this projector -- it can connect to bluetooth speakers (amazing feature, i used to use this via the apple tv directly to get the same result), it has a usb port that can provide enough power for roku/firetv etc which prevents having to have an adapter. The optical horizontal/vertical tilt is amazing, helps line up the picture and not sacrifice any brightness or quality (or the dreaded overbleed for light on your screen). A great budget 4k projector, best ive used so far.

My 2 yr old LG smart LED projector died from what I suspect was a lighting surge - so after being unable to find a repair shop that could even look at it, I decided to buy this Epson projector. I’ve had excellent experience with other Epson printers in past and they seem to be one of the leaders in the market. We are extremely pleased with it so far. Pros: - image quality and brightness - warranty period - solid build quality (made in Philippines) - kind of subjective but still important to me. - easy setup and adjustability. - low noise on eco mode. On brighter mode it’s more noticeable on quiet movies but still not distracting. Cons: - a bit pricey... - bulkier than our old projector - had to replace the bracket for a stronger one. - having trouble to power off projector from fire stick 4K remote - power on is no problem. May be a fire stick issue. - the manual is on line so keep a device handy during install because navigating menus and setup required manual. - life expectancy of bulb About our setup: - ceiling mount (upside down - very simple menu pick to flip image) using the Epson bracket sold separately for 100 or so dollars. Very solid bracket by the way installed easily. - I installed a surge protector outlet in the ceiling (Leviton) to prevent same fate as first projector. This avoids the ugly look of a surge protector - install took about 1.5 hour or so. Included putting up new bracket and surge outlet - and adjusting picture. - 110 inch screen. Mounted projector about 12-13 ft from screen. - using with fire stick 4K but Slight issue with power off from the fire stick remote. - set to eco mode Overall very pleased with purchase and experience. Recommended.

4K picture is great

I got this Epson Home Cinema Projector to place in another room that Im working on turning into a mini home theater in my house. I own another Epson projector and Ive been very pleased with their quality, so I expected just the same out of this one. The most amazing part about this projector is the absolutely excellent video quality. It transmits using 4K PRO-UHD technology, which I really dont understand a lot about. But it basically helps to improve the resolution, color, and image processing. Its got a 3-chip that puts out just beautiful and vibrant color while using pixel-shifting. The brightness is also exceptional and seems to be just perfect for any viewing experience. Its got a multitude of connections including: 2 HDMI ports, USB, and a 3.5 mm audio out. I wish it came with an optical audio output, but I guess thats starting to be replaced by HDMI anyway. The projection can output all the way up to a 150 display, but I dont think I even have space for that in the room Im using. Im currently using a 120 projection with the projector set back about 12 feet, which is just perfect for what I need. I mounted mine to the ceiling using one of the mounting kits that you can buy, so thats something youll want to consider most likely. You can also set it up on a tabletop, but Id imagine thats probably not the best scenario for most people. You might also consider buying a projector screen for placing on the wall to get the absolute best display. So prospective buyers should consider factoring those additional costs into their budget on top of the price of the projector. Finally, Ive been able to connect all of my peripheral devices without any issues including: Amazon Fire Stick, laptop, PS4, blu-ray dvd player, and DirecTV receiver. Overall Im extremely satisfied and impressed with the quality and performance of this Epson Home Cinema Projector. The amazing video quality and incorporated technology make this an amazing projector that can be had at a reasonable price when you consider that a lot of 4K projectors run around $5,000 or more.

This projector is Epsons mid level Pro UHD projector. Its a wonderful value for what you get. With 3000 lumens of brightness, 100,000:1 contrast ratio and horizontal and vertical lens shift. Its a great value for its price range.

Sorry amazons, I am not really a person into the details of the projector for I my main purpose is to watch movies and sports. One good feature that I like is the Bluetooth. I have an old Denon Amplifier and did not want to run a cable by cutting thru the dry wall and all that pain so I purchased this Bluetooth receive and connected in a seconds. I tested the audio for a lag and personally I did not see any lag. The BT receiver is about 20ft from the projector and see no breaks in voice for now. My main purpose of writing the review is that I searched for BT devices that support the Eposn 3800 aptX Bluetooth technology and found no answers only to find this device and had it shipped overnight for a small fee. I have owned literally a dozen projectors but the only ones still used daily in my home are all Epsons due to their quality, ease of use, and price point. The family room has a UST Epson that is brilliant for its use case but it lacks 4K. 4K is reserved for the proper theater room and thats where the 3800 comes in. The 3800 hits a great price point for its performance. Its not as elegant as the 5040 since it lacks the automatic lens controls (which are so handy) but if your install is fairly simple then the 3800 gives you virtually the same picture quality at a fraction of the cost of the 5040. Its plenty bright for a theater room and will even work well in a family room after dark but if you dont have any light control then it will struggle in rooms with excessive windows during the day. Image purists will argue that Epson doesnt have true 4K due to their pixel shifting, however plenty of reviews will tell. you the same thing, you just need to see it in person and decide for yourself if you can see the different. Price wise it is still a big jump in cost to get a real 4K projector and even after paying that price you wont get one that can put out the number of lumens that this 3800 can. This is a perfect family home theater room projector at a good price. Its not a $5k or $15k Sony thats going in some high end custom theater but it will blow the family away in any modest home theater. Im running this on a 135 screen in a theater room with no windows. Its quiet, plenty bright, beautiful colors and simply great for the price point. If you own a 1080P projector and have access to 4K content on streaming services then I highly recommend taking the plunge and upgrading to see what youve been missing.

A great bright room projector but not ready for that dedicated dark theater man cave. Too many artifacts.
