> 3 dayI am in a completely dark space, using on eco mode, and it is plenty bright. I am currently using an older receiver, so I cant comment on 4k, but everything, from streaming to BluRay to Red Dead Redemption 2, has looked great thus far. I cant imagine spending $5k+ for true 4k. Movies and games in HD are so amazing @ 135 that needing higher resolution for the non-OCD among us seems a little silly. Very little visible screen door, plenty bright, and the only time I really notice a resolution difference (vs led panel) is with live sports. But this seems pretty great, bang for the buck. At the rate Im going, my bulb will be dead in a year, but thats a good thing. It will be hard to play Xbox on anything else now...

> 3 dayWanted to start out with the unboxing, this is a solid unit in which you need a quality ceiling mount (Id recommend a professional if you arent that handy). Now this has your basic setup steps to go through as soon as you turn the unit on but I would recommend doing some research and reading on this unit as there is so much more advanced tweaking you can do. I made some presets and am able to change setting based on room brightness, screen aspect ratio, etc. You have a couple HDMI slots, USB plugs, Mini USB, Audio, etc so should be all you need to hook up any devices you need. The picture with 4k is so clear and crisp, the details just jump out at you and if you pay attention it is almost like you are looking our your window or outside it is just that real. My kids love it as it makes it seem like every night is a movie theater night and we no longer have a bulky tv setup to look at. Wanting to get a retractable screen for it to make our setup look a lot cleaner but currently just have a regular screen. Also, I hooked up with our wireless surround sound effortlessly, there was no sound delay and to me it was a hassle free experience. I have had other TV setups that were a lot more challenging but this was easy. Cant say enough good things about this unit, just really makes the family movie experience that much more delightful! Would highly recommend!

Greater than one weekThis projector came packaged in a very odd way. The projector was listed as new but clearly it had either been used or unpacked from its original packaging and repackaged in other boxes/materials. I feel like we overpaid for it considering the condition it was delivered in but overall the projector seems to work fine. A few minor glitches but the picture quality is great so were keeping it.

> 3 dayEpson 3800 4K HDR projector is not really a 4K projector. But it’s amazing and beautiful when you compare other 4K projectors in this price range. Brightness, HDR colors and contrast are absolutely great in this Epson 3800 Projector. It’s really a magical cinematic experience. I just connected it with my amazon firestick and the picture quality is awesome when I watch 4k movies from amazon, Netflix, hulu and even in YouTube. Other brands 4k projectors may be little more sharper than this projector. But no one can not beat the color, brightness and contrast of this Epson 3800 and the lens shift, keystone options are really helpful for set up. Constraints : Remote control is too big. Lens shift and keystone options are manual. HDR is not adjusting automatically. We need to setup manually based on the video content.

> 3 dayMy 2 yr old LG smart LED projector died from what I suspect was a lighting surge - so after being unable to find a repair shop that could even look at it, I decided to buy this Epson projector. I’ve had excellent experience with other Epson printers in past and they seem to be one of the leaders in the market. We are extremely pleased with it so far. Pros: - image quality and brightness - warranty period - solid build quality (made in Philippines) - kind of subjective but still important to me. - easy setup and adjustability. - low noise on eco mode. On brighter mode it’s more noticeable on quiet movies but still not distracting. Cons: - a bit pricey... - bulkier than our old projector - had to replace the bracket for a stronger one. - having trouble to power off projector from fire stick 4K remote - power on is no problem. May be a fire stick issue. - the manual is on line so keep a device handy during install because navigating menus and setup required manual. - life expectancy of bulb About our setup: - ceiling mount (upside down - very simple menu pick to flip image) using the Epson bracket sold separately for 100 or so dollars. Very solid bracket by the way installed easily. - I installed a surge protector outlet in the ceiling (Leviton) to prevent same fate as first projector. This avoids the ugly look of a surge protector - install took about 1.5 hour or so. Included putting up new bracket and surge outlet - and adjusting picture. - 110 inch screen. Mounted projector about 12-13 ft from screen. - using with fire stick 4K but Slight issue with power off from the fire stick remote. - set to eco mode Overall very pleased with purchase and experience. Recommended.

> 3 dayI switched to this from my old 3000 Lumen 720p projector. I had expected a clarity improvement, but I was unsure about the drop down to 2900 Lumens since the 3000 wasnt great in a brighter environment that I sometimes have. Im pleased to say that I was blown away by the improvement in clarity and completely surprised by the brightness. I know the rating is 100 Lumens lower, but it seems significantly brighter than my old projector.

> 3 dayI have a dedicated home theater room with a 120 inch screen, surround sound, etc. I had a Panasonic projector that did OK for a number of years but its now about 8 years old and I was getting more and more disappointed with the image quality even though its a 1080 projector. My problem was that Id see something on my LG OLED and the Panasonic didnt come close. Theres also the fact that it was getting old and I wanted a better picture. Ive waited and waited for better projectors to hit the market. I wanted 4K but the prices were prohibitive. But, manufacturers started selling sorta 4K (my term) with HDR. So, I jumped in with this one. Setup was incredibly simple. I plugged in my HDMI cable, plugged in the power, turned it on and voila - it worked. I had to mess with it for a bit for my screen size and I had to dial down the color mode. The factory preset was dynamic which would probably be great for a bright family room but in my blacked out theater room - not so much. On that subject. There are four color mode presets - dynamic, bright cinema, natural, and cinema. You can change settings within each of these and you can save those changes. I have mine hanging from the ceiling and was able to adjust everything so the picture was straight on the screen. I dont use the speakers but I did give them a try so I could see what they were like. Theyre pretty average stereo speakers that do an OK job. If I was using this now and then in a family room or at work Id be happy with the sound but I prefer my 7.2 home theater setup. With 3000 lumens and 100,000:1 contrast ratio youd expect a great picture and you wouldnt be wrong. Like I said before, I had to dial the brightness down for my home theater but its nice to have it if I ever need it. I purposely watched the same movie (Avatar) back to back with my old Panasonic and then the Epson. No contest. The Epson was significantly sharper and brighter (in a good way) than my old 1080 projector. After movies, I fired up the XBox and played some games. I dont have any 4K games but the games I do have were much crisper than they were with the Panasonic. Ive tweaked a few settings since I got comfortable with this projector mostly because I could. Other than the color mode (brightness) it was really OK out of the box. Is it better than my 1080 projector? Heck yes. Is it better than my LG 65 inch OLED? No but its a heck of a lot closer than before.

> 3 dayThis thing is amazing!!! The picture is bright, the colors are incredible, and the blacks are as black as I’ve seen in a projector! All that and I only use it outdoors where there’s plenty of ambient light. The projection is so bright I was able to watch a movie before sunset. Great product! Thank you!

Greater than one weekBetter picture than 4k DLP! We had another branded DLP and after ~1000 hours we had a star field of dead mirrors. I remember that LCDs did not do that..... Looking forward to finding out over time.

> 3 dayI just hope it lasts. My last projector gave up the ghost after 5 years
