Greater than one weekAfter 3 years of using MERV 13 filters on box fans for forest fire smoke, this is by far the best filter Ive found. With a fire 3 miles away, and smoke levels in the unhealthy to hazardous range, my TemTop air quality monitor (which I highly recommend) showed the cheaper so called MERV 13 filters were doing very little to reduce the pm2.5 fine particle count in the air. I put one of these 3M Filtrete 20x20x1 filters on, and wow, what a difference. Within an hour the AQI in our house went from 150 to 20, and continued to slowly drop down to 4, which is about what our HEPA filter will do (it has a 3M filter in it too.) The air flow on this filter is also outstanding. It has a lot more pleats, thus more surface area, than other similar filters.

> 3 dayIve been using the purple 3m filters for probably ten years, and if you want to see how effective they are, just take a look when the recommended three months of use is up. Mine are consistently packed solid with accumulated dust, and definitely ready for replacement. No strain on the HVAC system, however. The package price on Amazon is a great deal. Before I found them here, I was paying over $20 each at my local Ace hardware

> 3 dayThe six pack of filters is a good value for the money. However, this batch of them is not individually sealed like they used to be. The six pack came in a box that you keep them in. All of them were sealed together so once you unwrap them, they are subject to dust & air particles gathering on them . The only way to keep them clean until you use them is to keep them in the box. The box takes up more space than 6 individual ones so that is disappointing.
