> 3 dayThe processor works well. It performs well under heavy tasks such as 3D rendering/animation. It does well in gaming too. Full disclosure, my last CPU was a mobile Core 2 Duo 8600 or something. That processor really struggled to do any of this. Im happy to just not wait for anything to be done anymore.

Greater than one weekPurchased this back in May 2018. Has been good to me for two years. It is common knowledge that there is an Intel tax & their chips run hot, however if you are able to find this for $250 or less you’re getting a great deal. Ryzen has made great strides, but if you purchased this from when it first released you may want to hold onto it for a bit longer. I have it undervolted so it generates less heat, and have water cooled it as well. I’m sure this will last me another 2-3 years before I make the jump to Ryzen.

> 3 dayBeautifully fast. Very hot you need to make sure you have a good cooling set up. Personally I have a Corsair H100v2 with 4 Noctua NF-F12 iPPC 3000 PWMs in a push-pull configuration. Best choice I have ever made for my new build. Hottest I have seen under max constant load is 78C, compared to 87C with Corsairs H100v2 fans...

> 3 dayIts a great CPU for a graphics/programming workstation. However, the number of threads limits do limit your options regarding SATA/M.2 combinations. Basically you cant use 1, 5 & 6 on the board if youve got 2 M.2 installed. Which is a bit annoying. You may want to wait for the 8 core 16 thread version.

> 3 dayEdit- So I did finally delid my cpu and managed to get temps and voltage even lower. From a cold boot it idles at 23 degrees Celsius on the package. In games and rendering it goes ups to 45-48 and after 6 hours of streaming it peaked at 53. This is all with a 5ghz OC @ 1.3V. It hits 5.3 @ 1.39 but not completely stable and didn’t feel like going any farther.

> 3 dayExcellent CPU was lucky enough to get it on the price drop. Idle temps are high 30c-40c with my max temps being 80c. Good case airflow and a good aftermarket heatsink is required.
