its become too big to be comfortable. Whilst not as heavy as a tablet it starts taking up space and tiring out the hands.

Id upgraded from Paperwhite 2. The display is great with warm light. I always have some warm on even during the day. Screen resolution 300 ppi is sharp. Noticeable upgrade from Paperwhite 2 which is only 221 ppi. Backlight is smooth in brightness across the screen. Battery is worse than Paperwhite. I read 2-3 hours a day and have to recharge every 2-4 days. (Most of the time with WiFi/cellular on. Well, at least it is better than mobile phone. Cellular is great for travel. Good for one hand. Reversing the button may help achieve better grip. Worth the price if you read a lot.

The new Oasis was my big holiday gift. Ive had Kindles since they were introduced, and each version surpassed the previous in function, speed, reliability, size and weight until now. The Oasis is a huge disappointment. My battery drains 10% a day. The font changes size randomly and the Reading Progress function shuts down randomly as well. The light adjustment is just plain weird, fading rapidly a few minutes into reading at night. I am really sorry I asked for this upgrade. Im not sure how to contact anyone to find out whats going on, either: is this just mine, or is it the whole Oasis line? I recommend putting this off your wish list for now!

I read a lot at night time. Use iPad mini five, black screen, white letters with Night Shift (warmer colors at night time). I have a Kindle voyage which I really like but obvi, no inverted screen option with voyage. Bought oasis specifically for the inverted screen color to use at night time. Set warm colors also. For the most part, great UNTIL between one page and next, screen ***completely inverts color*** to blue/white background and black letters (completely *not* warm colors), killing my night vision and Night adapted eyes. Mind you, this is **intermittent** and also occurs when I want to bookmark a page. I would start reading with my oasis, then get the annoying inverted screen flicker, then revert back to my iPad mini, with oasis collecting dust on desk. Online chat with representative sent me a refurbished unit, instead of a new unit as promised. Grr. Returning both. (defective new unit, and replacement new refurbished unit)

Have owned several kindles from the original USA version and now the new oasis so you could say I am a fan, all are still in good working order except the original oasis which was bought when it first came out. This kindle just died, fortunately just before prime day, so was able to purchase the latest top of the range for a very good price. It’s slightly larger than the original and one piece rather than the cover and battery of the previous version, which once I started using found I much preferred. It seems faster and the lighting which can be adjusted to your own preference is great. All in all as far as I am concerned a great buy, and looking forward to many hours of reading. One thing you do need a cover for protection but think the amazon one is overpriced, you can pick a good cover on Amazon that works just as well for a fraction of the price. ,
