> 24 hourWhen I started buying items to turn our home more towards being a smart home my husband was leery. Ive always been a gadget.. freak. I dony go out and buy any old thing. I research the items. I dont want a system installed by some alarm company, I want a custom setup - which means watching for incompatibility. The few items Ive installed havent impacted him much so he wasnt impressed, except that they worked & werent a waste of money. However, since he was going to soon put up Christmas lights and any timers we had he hated. Mainly because he was worried about fires when we were away for more than a couple of hours. This caught my eye. A timer (so he wouldnt have to run out in his pjs in icy cold weather to unplug it), an outlet designed for outdoor use, and it has remote access. I didnt rell him I ordered it. But when I showed it to him and got it set up and he saw how easy it was to use, well, hes a big fan. Weve had no problems with connectivity. It works easily with Alexa, and can even connect with the persnickety SmartThings on my Samsung phone! Not that I need that. Between Alexa & the Kasa app Ive got complete control, as does my husband. Well, he uses me to do any configuring. I cant convince him to install Alexa on his phone. *sigh* It is well built, sturdy, and easy to set up. It comes with hardware to secure it to the wall so that there is no stress on the houses outlet, or on it, when things pull (or people) on whatever is connected. This is one feature that my husband really liked. He gets aggrivated with cords pulling out of the outlet or the strain on the outlet causes the inner parts to warp and plugs no longer plug in as easily. And, as most outdoor outlets have, it has covers for each outlet to keep the weather - and kids - out. I havent checked these closely for being tamper resistant, but I had to work at it a bit to open it. I like that. Time will tell if they become loose.

> 24 hourAlexa Integration Rating: Installing this plug required using the Kasa App on my phone. I already had 5 fully functional Kasa plug in place. When I tried to use the Kasa app to install the new plug 4 of the 5 existing plugs ceased to work. I spent hours getting the 4 plugs and the new plug to work. The fifth plug doesnt show up on the Kasa app but it works perfectly. Remote Control Rating: I dont know if the problem is with Alexa or Kasa but sometimes both plugs on the new Kasa plug turn on when I have only asked for one to turn on. The names for the plugs may be too similar so it could be a user problem.

> 24 hourI bought both the Kasa Outdoor Smart Plug AND the Smart Light Switch. I like them, they work great and dont require Googles Alexa Spy on you device. The app is pretty good, Im actually impressed with it. Some features that are missing though...hint hint Kasa development team...setting a schedule for a group of devices. It already lets you group devices together and turn them all on and off manually as a group, but it does not let you schedule that way, so you have to set the schedule individually for each. ALSO it would be nice if we could add + or - minutes to Sunrise & Sunset times on the schedule. I live in the Pacific Northwest. Especially in winter on cloudy days, it gets dark well before sunset and stays dark after sunrise. Id like the lights to come on 30 minutes before and stay on 30 minutes after.

> 24 hourFinally I don’t have to go out in the middle of a freezing night because I forgot to turn off the decoration lights or left them running till the next day because I was too lazy or forgotten it was on. Works great. And the heavy rain this winter did no damage to it either.

> 24 hourWe use this to plug in two string light strands in our backyard. Works seamlessly through Alexa for voice command to turn them on and off. Could also place on a schedule if you wanted. It is outside permanently, so we wrapped the plugs in electrical tape just for extra protection and to keep them plugged in with tension on the line. Have never needed to mess with it since the install. Going to buy another one this year for Xmas lights.

> 24 hourWith this product you do not have to wire an indoor switch, to turn the power on to an outdoor light. You dont even have to leave the building..

> 24 hourI purchased two of these to control my holiday lighting after years of continuous adjustments of dusk/dawn/timer activated controls. One of my outlets is in my external entryway and the other on a external wall. It is very easy for me to use the Kasa app to control my lighting, and was a piece of mind to make it look like I was home while turning them on from anywhere. I was unsuccessful at setting up a routine with Alexa but that could just be me. I honestly didnt spend a lot of time trying to figure it out after setting up groups, routines, etc. and giving up after the lights didnt come on by themselves for a few days. I just set a calendar reminder on my phone. It was also nice to be able to turn them on before I came home with guests for the holidays and surprise them!
