> 3 dayAfter spending the last year soldering tiny whoops, headphone cables, TRRRS connectors, MIN XLRs, etc... and often times getting frustrated with not getting good results, I upgraded my iron to a Hakko FX888D-23BY and while I did get good results with the leaded solder I was using, I still struggled with getting good flow and not having to turn my iron up. Bought a roll of this of many folks recommendations, and problem solved! I was able to turn my iron down, solder those pesky 4 pole and 5 pole headphone jacks, tine whoops, etc. with ease and the joints look amazing and are strong. This solder is the real deal and reminds me why I fell in love with the hobby as a kid.

> 3 dayThis stuff was so difficult to use, I dont think mine had any flux in there. Would only clump up trying to use it.

> 3 dayI typically use another formula of Kester solder. Decided to give this a try. It works very much like more common Kester solder. I noticed much less residue. It seems to have a slightly higher melting point and a bit less flow (I do through-hole components). The difference is small and the decreased residue is a real plus.

Greater than one weekIve been buying solder from Home Depot for years. Always worked great, never had a problem. Then, it started not to work as it should. No matter how much I cleaned the tips. I couldnt tin them. It just bubbled on the tip and didnt coat. Even on new tips. Did the same to the wires. Looked for months for a better solder. Found kester among others. Felted out of the group I was looking at that kester would be the one. Order this bundle and was surprise that it was a pound and the price was cheap compare to the amount I was getting from Home Depot. Its also thinner as well. Like the solder that came with the solder gun. Took my solder and gun. Heat the gun up and try to tin it. And it took! Next, took wires and tested it. Went on good and clean and it holds excellent. Havent had a problem with a solder joint yet. I dont expect to. I dont think it take a lot of heat to melt it. I keep my gun on a low range, but I believe even set there it is a bit too hot. Need to take a temp reading of it to find out. You really dont have to clean the solder after and no need of using Flux (unless you want too). If youre looking for a replacement. I recommend trying this one!

> 3 dayThis is a good choice for your basic home electronics soldering work unless you need to be RoHS compliant. The eutectic tin/lead ratio is the easiest to use.

> 3 dayLoved the small diameter for small components and quick melting point, have been soldering since 1964,this is the best yet.
