This is a really easy solder to use, its now my preffered one for repairs etc...

This stuff was so difficult to use, I dont think mine had any flux in there. Would only clump up trying to use it.

I know its not politically correct to say this but wow - what a relief to get back to a good tin-lead solder vs. the no-Pb stuff I struggled with. Just could not make it work with my controlled temp Weller station. I love this Kester alloy.

Ive tried other brands, Kester is the best. For almost 30 years Ive used this brand and cannot say enough good things about this solder.

Great for small connectors and fine wires. Just have a worth while solder device...and not something from a discount store that only gets warm and doesnt heat.

Ive been buying solder from Home Depot for years. Always worked great, never had a problem. Then, it started not to work as it should. No matter how much I cleaned the tips. I couldnt tin them. It just bubbled on the tip and didnt coat. Even on new tips. Did the same to the wires. Looked for months for a better solder. Found kester among others. Felted out of the group I was looking at that kester would be the one. Order this bundle and was surprise that it was a pound and the price was cheap compare to the amount I was getting from Home Depot. Its also thinner as well. Like the solder that came with the solder gun. Took my solder and gun. Heat the gun up and try to tin it. And it took! Next, took wires and tested it. Went on good and clean and it holds excellent. Havent had a problem with a solder joint yet. I dont expect to. I dont think it take a lot of heat to melt it. I keep my gun on a low range, but I believe even set there it is a bit too hot. Need to take a temp reading of it to find out. You really dont have to clean the solder after and no need of using Flux (unless you want too). If youre looking for a replacement. I recommend trying this one!

I was previously using some pretty cheap-o solder and had such a tough time figuring out why my projects kept failing that I decided to give this well-lauded Kester brand a try. The difference was really night and day! The Kester solder flows amazingly well, and Ive had to do no rework due to mysteriously failing connections like with my old solder. Dont cheap out, buy this stuff.
