> 24 hourI just recently discovered this and have found it invaluable. I use it as much as the opaque whites. Great for adding depth or subduing shapes.

> 24 hourI bought this paint as a comparison between Winsor & Newton and Liquitex professional and student paints. In order to compare I did a simple gradient test to find the truest and birghtest color when mixed with white. I find it important to note that the professional Winsor and Newton uses the same pigments as the Liqutex student paint. I found that Winsor and Liquitex professional pains have the same degree of pigment saturation. However Liquitex professional had the brightest color when mixed with white. Liquitex student paint was only slightly duller than the professional and a closer comparison to Winsor professional. The Winsor student paint was not phthalo blue as I expected and had a very strong green shade. By all standards Liquitex professional was the best paint by being true to the expected color, having a high degree of pigment saturation, and remaining bright after being mixed with white. Winsor professional and Liquitex student tie for second though price would put Liquitex ahead. Winsor professional had a higher saturation but was not as bright when mixed with white and compared to Liquitex student. Winsor student pain comes in dead last by an long shot. The paint is the completely wrong color though its pigmentation states that it should be the same as Liquitex professional. The degree of saturation is far less that any of the other paints and it is greatly dulled by the white paint. Final rankings: 1. Liquitex professional 2. Liquitex student 3. Winsor & Newton professional 4. great dissapointment 5. Winsor & Newton Student I will be buying Liquitex paints for my art. I believe that Liquitex BASICS is the best value per $ as long as the paintings are not intended to be sold by an art gallery.

> 24 hourLiquitex Artist Acrylics are wonderful paints to work with on canvas or wood, and I use a lot of white. Most Liquitex colors mix well and rinse well. But if I am painting a rock or painting with my fingers, I reach for craft paints like Apple Barrel because they are thinner, and then I use a sealer after.

> 24 hourI only started painting a year ago, and I tried the “ professional “ brands along with this Liquitex Basics “student brand”. For about a third of what the professional brands cost, I found this paint to be my favorite over all! Creamy and vibrant. I love them!

> 24 hourIts a well known fact that yellow pigments can be among the less strong, and these arent. The color is perfect, but it requires multiple coats to provide complete coverage. Even with the best quality brushes it doesnt actually go on the canvas evenly. If painting over a dark already painted background it will be even more difficult. I tried uploading a file from my iPhone but get message unsupported file. I prefer a thicker paint but these work well for what Im doing now - just take 3 - 4 coats and lots of time in between to dry.
