Lixit Quick Lock Cage Bowls for Small Animals and Birds. (20oz, Blue)

My Quaker parrot kept flipping over his food bowls. This quick lock bowl was the perfect solution. It’s a little difficult to remove, but hopefully it‘ll get easier after a few uses. It’s the perfect size and my Quaker can’t knock any food over.

Works perfectly and is a great addition to my birds cage. I have the regular built in cups for food and water, but needed one for treats and this fits the bill! And its quite easy to clean as well. :)

Glad I found these. Have used the plastic ones for years at our cat rescue. Plastic causes chin acne in some animals. Stainless solves that problem and are easier to clean.

In the store it costs a lot more and its the same thing. They work great. I have them in both my bird cages.

This bowl rates two stars for the size and material; I like both. The problem I have with this bowl is that you need at least 3 hands to attach it to the cage. One to hold the bowl, one to keep the bolt in place and one to attach the outer plate/nut. It can be done with two hands but I find it very frustrating and usually spill the water or drop the nut. Be careful when tightening the nut. My husband had it too tight and around 2 am in the morning I heard a loud noise. The outer plate broke and went flying, the bowl dropped down in the cage and sent water everywhere (inside and outside the cage).

Yes, these bowls are well made, sturdy, and easy to clean. I was just surprised by how large and deep they were! Im a little concerned about my cockatiels (with medical conditions) ability to reach food so deep in the bowl, but I think theyll manage. If I could do it all over, Id order the same brand, but with a more shallow bowl, so the birds wont have to dip so deep to reach the food.
