My daughters interests are tiny things and magnets. She has multiple kits of magnetic blocks in a bin that she will carry from room to room. Tile shapes when I was a kid never worked well with magnets but the ones now are so much stronger plus this one puts it on all edges and more shapes giving kids more creativity so I bought it for her and now she wants to donate all her magnetic blocks and mega blocks to get more of these. She wants to build all the pictures shown in the booklet included. There is doors windows, you can stack, see through, triangles and squares. Even my mom was heavily interested in these. Definitely a more evolved magnetic toy.

These are fun to play with but building things is difficult. It comes with a good amount of pieces so you don’t have to buy two sets but I think the placement of the magnets makes it difficult to actually build things. For example when building a box it will easily collapse if not handled extremely gentle. Another magnet may also make it collapse. It’s a bit frustrating. I really like that the magnets are completely covered so they cannot fall off and become a choking hazard.

There are lots and lots of these magnetic building tile sets being sold on Amazon right now. Most of them can be used together. This one is only 40 pieces so it’s quite small. But it’s a nice “starter” set to see if your child is going to enjoy such building sets. But from my experience. . . .The really like them. I use them in a school setting, and kids really enjoy building things together. This set is Made in China and being sold by a Chinese company on Amazon. At the current price of 30 bucks for only 40 pieces. . . This is quite pricey. Make sure you look around for the best price per-piece before purchasing.

My kids are a bit older 10 and 11, but they requested Magnatiles. While these aren’t the name brand item they are a great set! We do have a name brand set and unfortunately it did not work with them, but I did not expect it to. This set is played with more often. It comes with 40 pieces total so it is a good size set. The magnets are strong and are great for building.

I got them for my son he likes making garages out of them. The only thing is that the triangle pieces flop down when you use them on the top not very durable.
