The item fits great and works just as good as the original antenna. I have used this antenna for several weeks and have had no issues with reception or transmitting radio traffic.

Have it on a Motorola apx 7000. Works same as longer stock one that came on it. Same oem quality.

Does this work? Absolutely Yes. Are you going to have a diminished range? Yes, but that is to be expected on any antenna application where you are making it shorter. I notice ZERO difference in my day to day work as a LEO. I even tested it and went to the locations where I know the reception would be bad I.E. underground garages, concrete buildings etc. It still performed perfectly.

I’ve purchased this item three times and it has worked well. It will unscrew from the unit. That’s my only issue so purchaser beware check for tightness often

When we got new Motorolla radios the department ordered them with the long antennas because they thought the longer antenna would be better for reception. The long antenna became a major distraction. It was always getting caught on my shirt or other equipment. I ordered the short antenna to give it a try. I have had zero issues with reception and it is no longer a distraction. Recently, other guys with the longer antenna were receding out of range tones and I was fine when we were standing next to each other. Even during some testing the RSSI was better with the short antenna vs the long one.

Nice and durable antenna that replaced the armpit tickler stock antenna that came on my Motorola APX6000 radio. Does affect reception in certain places, but on the whole it works great.
