Mounted this on the wall and ran my cables from my router to all the different rooms in my house. Very easy to use as you just snap in each cable to the slots. I have not noticed any loss of signal strength using this. I really liked that it was just plug and use without having to run any setup.

We received this device a month ago and hooked it up a couple days ago. After hooking the switch up, we connected out router port to it and the internet stopped working. Our cable guy came and checked it out and he is very tech savvy and told us that the switch was not working. Mind you, we dont know anything about computers and one of our other friends who is also tech savvy told us the switch was not working. We called amazon to see if we can get it replaced because we knew we couldnt return it and it was past warranty. They got in contact with Netgear and the customer support guy on Netgear tried helping us with our problem. His name was Nino. First of all, I NEVER write reviews because I feel like it is a waste of time but honestly this guy needs to get FIRED. I do not wish that on any one but he was being extremely rude and after the end of the call he said not to give them a bad review. After he explained us how to do i, he kept saying that we were doing something wrong. I may not know how to use computers but I know damn well I was doing everything right on my end because the way he was explaining how to do it. Additionally, how can our old Netgear switch work but the new one doesnt even if we connect all the same ports we had on it. He was first talking to my dad and my dad really didnt understand English, so he gave me the phone. I know English pretty well, and I also can follow directions. The guy was acting rude to me as well and acting like I was illiterate. He wasted 2 hours of my time and continuously said I am doing something wrong. If 2 guys who are very good at computers and knows how our switches and routers work and have been doing it for over 50 years, I know damn well that when they say something is wrong with the switch, something is wrong. Lastly, I kept telling him that we have a warranty, and he kept ignoring me and changing the topic. Then finally he said, We can replace the device for you but if the switch does not work, know that you were not doing it right in the first place. NEVER in my 23 years have I heard anyone say that to me, especially after having two tech savvy professionals in my business try to figure out the problem. And that is what caused me to raise my voice and write this review. And a few minute after I hung up the phone call he had the audacity to say Please dont give us a bad review. LOL

Perfect right out the box! Just what I needed to hook up all the Ethernet devices including my work phone which is internet based. I had a 5 port but needed more ports and this one has 8 so I have 2 ports free to something else later.

Its great and does what it says it does. Its been nice to be able to separate off a portion of the home network to this switch. Helped ease the WiFi strain weve been building up over the years with the switch to SmartTVs (now their wired with the help of the switch).

The NETGEAR 8-port Gigabit unmanaged switch provides an easy, reliable, and affordable way to expand your network connections in homes and small offices. It is plug-and-play and features a rugged metal case. Features also include Auto-MDI/MDI, LED indicator on each port, energy-efficient technology, fan less design, auto-negotiation and non-blocking switching architecture.
