NIKON NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S Standard Zoom Lens for Nikon Z Mirrorless Cameras

I have never used any zoom lens until this 24-70 2.8 z lens. All my Nikon lens are primes started from the film days. I like prime lenss compact size, sharpness, contrasts and separations. In general I would prefer quality / light travel than zoom lenss conveniences. I am always intimidated by the size and weight of trinity pro zooms. This latest 24-70 2.8 is much smaller than F mount counter part, that I can tolerate and carry around. this lens + Z6 can fit in my current camera bag with lens hood on. The lens feels really solid and well balanced on the camera, though still a little bit front heavy overtime if hold the camera with only one hand. The zoom ring has nice damp and friction that reminds me of the focus ring on those legacy lens; I do like the little display that comes in handy when under little or no light condition. Autofocus on Z6 is fast without making any noise, perfect for taking videos. I decided to go with mirrorless because Z mounts very short 16mm flange focus depth and large size enables outstanding optical potentials; Phase detection focusing with mirrorlesss sensor can produce very sharpe images (If Z6 nails the focus). The color, contrast, sharpness are beyond my surprise, matches my 1.4 prime lenss image qualities. At 70mm I wish the background can be a little creamier since I am used to 85 and 105 primes, but it is not bad, still give you very good separation. The color is vivid, transparent, and detailed. This lens + Z6s sensor can produce some great skin tones. With Z6s built in sensor stabilization, I can get sharp picture with two or even three stops slower shutter speed, very impressive and useful for stills in low light. This is one and only native Z lens that I have so far for Z6, and I dont plan to adapt any F mount prime lens on Z6, given its high performance, versatility and reasonable size. I really cannot think of anything negative about this lens. Nikons new Z mount and lens are pretty well done indeed. This lens has changed my mind about the pro zoom lens and I really enjoy taking pictures and video with it.

I have used several 24-70 f/2.8 lenses over the years on full frame DSLRs. I also have the f/4 24-70 kit lens. The f/4 is as good as any of the Nikon F moiunt counter parts. The f/2.8 lens is better. The sharpest zoom in this range I have ever seen. Focus is fast and quiet..It is not a lightweight Z camera lens, but it is a superb quality lens.

This is the new 24-70 f/2.8 for the Nikon Mirrorless cameras. While the 24-70 f/4 is great, this is absolutely the best 24-70 I have ever owned, of any brand.

Ive used the 24-70 2.8 (non VR) with D700 and the Z6 ( with FTZ adapter). The Z mount version is a brilliant lens. It makes the whole Z system come alive. The AF is lightning fast. Image quality is better (although the F mount version aint a slouch). However, theres a night and day difference when it comes to video. The F mount version has a loud AF motor. It makes the AFF mode practically useless. The Z mount lens has a near silent AF mechanism. I use the AFF during videos. The audio quality is more than acceptable for a bully in mic using this lens. The main problem would be the price. I cannot imagine it is an easy decision to pay so much for this. I have to admit this lens is a brilliantly engineered piece of technology. In short, a must buy to fully enjoy Z system.

Es kam aber ein Objektiv ohne Garantiekarte und außen überklebter Seriennummer. Nikon sagt dazu, dass es Amazon frei stehe, die Objektive zu kaufen, wo es beliebt und dass nur die Nikon GmbH-Ware die zusätzliche Garantie bekommt. Da hat man dann halt Pech und schickt das Objektiv zurück. Da wird die verlängerten Garantie zum Glücksspiel. In Ordnung ist das nicht. Dann sollte man auch mit dieser Garantie nicht werben, vor allem dann nicht, wenn es sich um ein Objektiv für 2200 Euro handelt.

This lens is incredible. It is tack sharp, focus is fast. Set the lens function button to magnify. One touch and you know your focus is excellent. Best Nikon 24-70 f/2.8 lens out there. Bravo Nikon!!!

Superb Lens Tack sharp Awesome results

This is the best 24-70 I’ve ever used. The image quality, sharpness, contrast, color is better than my f-mount Nikon primes. Since buying this lens, I’ve sold my Nikon 85mm 1.8 G, Sigma 35mm 1.4 Art, and the Nikon 24-70 F4 Z mount kit lens, simply because they became obsolete the moment I put this lens (24-70 f2.8 S) on my Z 6 and Z 6ii. In my opinion it’s far better than the 24-70 f4 S kit lens. The f4 kit lens seems clinical and has a mundane-fine quality to the images... where the 24-70 2.8 S has a beautiful artful rendering quality to the images. I’ve stayed away from 24-70 lenses in the past because this focal range is just so standard and boring... but this lens has converted me.

Nitidez brutal, calidad óptica y rapidez de enfoque. Con la Z7 es un lujo.

かなり細かく写るのでしょうが最初はコントラストが強く感じびっくりします。ちょっと他のZ24−１２０とかの写りとは違います。Z１４−３０とも違いこのレンズだけの特徴かもしれません。風景写真には良いかも知れませんが人には調整が必要だと感じました。
