NIKON NIKKOR Z 85mm f/1.8 S Portrait Fast Prime Lens for Nikon Z Mirrorless Cameras

Great lens but really I was lucky it was not stolen. I have never had an item delivered without a normal cardboard package and this was an expensive lens - advertised sitting there in the Nikon packaging saying steal me.

This is certainly one of the best lenses that Ive ever bought. Its extremely sharp and great for both photography and videography. Love this lens on the Z6!

I decided to upgrade so I wouldnt have to use the FTZ adapter and the Tamron 85 1.8. It is smaller and lighter especially since you dont have to us an adapter. To me ,when comparing the Tamron 85 to the Nikon 85s lens I dont see much of a difference. Auto focus may be faster, it may be sharper in the corners, or sharper overall. It is a lot lighter and smaller. From my usage, so far I really didnt see a big difference. I guess if you shoot test charts then view them at 3 - 400 % you can see one is better than the other. So am I returning the lens? No, because this lens should last a long time and if the Tamron 85 1.8 from 2016 is as close in performance to the Nikon 85 1.8 from 2019 manufactures have probably reached a limit to what can be done at certain price points.

Great lens for portraits especially. Sharp. Natural color saturation. Focuses well.

I love this lens so much that 1.8 is amazing. Probably has to do more with my skill level but focusing is a real pain. Itll look in focus on most of the subject but then one area will be slightly out even though its within subject range. But dang do I love the quality on this lens.

Bottom line is that you get beautiful portraits with this lens, I found many of the on-line reviews a bit beside the point. This lens focuses very quickly and produces nicely balanced and charming images. (And yes, if you like creamy bokeh, this has it in spades.)

This is one of the best portrait lens I have owned. The lens is sharp at f1.8. Light weight and works great with my Nikon z6. I would strongly recommend this.
