NIKON NIKKOR Z 85mm f/1.8 S Portrait Fast Prime Lens for Nikon Z Mirrorless Cameras

Bottom line is that you get beautiful portraits with this lens, I found many of the on-line reviews a bit beside the point. This lens focuses very quickly and produces nicely balanced and charming images. (And yes, if you like creamy bokeh, this has it in spades.)

Im a portrait photographer, and this is the best lens Ive used. Better than the AF-S NIKKOR 85mm f/1.4G I used before switching to mirrorless, and that was a great lens. The lens is razor sharp from center to corners. I wont be in a hurry to get the 85mm f/1.2 lens when it comes out.

I cant say enough good things about the 85mm 1.8s.. This focal lenth on a crop sensor Z50 completely destroys backgrounds.. @f2.8 1/250sec eye auto focus worked like a dream in the low light while wearing masks and hats.. I also rented the 135mm from sigma and the F mount nikon 85mm, the 85 1.8s was faster focusing, more accurate and also much quieter than the others. For a few months I also owned the Z mount Viltrox 85mm 1.8 which is comparable to the Nikon for speed and accuracy but the Viltrox is slightly softer at 1.8 (and also stopped working after 1,200 shots lol).
