Being a first time charcoal “artist wanna be”, I really could have used info on the different types, how to use and when, for what. As well as a couple of simple illustrations to start would have been great! Had to order a charcoal drawing book for some understanding and a dose of bravery to start. Looking forward to learning!

Very good gift for those who love to draw, my 9 year old daughter loves it

I got this for my brother in law for his birthday and he has been very happy using it! The paper was nice and thick, the charcoal were smooth and he has never complained about them. I think kids would like learning blending techniques in this sketch boom as much as an experienced drawer enjoys it, too.

My grandson (10 years old) is learning to draw. This is an excellent starter kit for him to learn the basics.

Im a beginner so Id say it seems good. Theres a selection of the most commonly used hardnesses of the pencils. You can use the plastic case they came in to keep your pencils together, organized and ready for use but I will be looking around for a pencil box or holder to make them easier to use and store.
