Occidental Leather 8581 FatLip Fastener Bag

Its a nice bag but for being touted fat lip I find the pocket for the tape measure and the two front pockets are a bit small. I have a 25 foot tape measure and it just fits and once in it is difficult to get it back out. If I was using a 30-40 foot tape it would not fit in the pocket. I live in the Catskill mountain region of New York and when wearing gloves in winter it is difficult getting things out of the smaller pockets. I have another brand pouch that did not cost me nearly as much that works better!

Occidental bags are the absolute best. Dont waste money on cheap bags that will break down in a few months. These bags will last a lifetime if you take care of them. Leather is twice as thick as other brands, so the bags do weight a bit more than the cheap ones.

Its hard not to give this a 5 star because it is so well constructed, and the pocket layout is perfect. But I cant, because the bag rides too low, making you have to bend to grab screws out of the fat lip pouches. Almost perfect. Currently looking for someone with leather working skills to modify it.

Very lightweight

Main pouch is VERY deep and spacious, with no dividers. which depending on the task/loadout can be a pro or con. Wish I had gotten hands on before choosing. Certainly dont regret it, but mightve chosen dfferently after having used it daily for about 2 months now

Exactly what I needed. With the addition of 2 plastic sleeves it currently holds- starret miter finder, wire strippers(im not an electrician but still need them enough to justify having them there), shark corp 8 bar, M12 impact gun, every common drill bit including a countersink and felt tip for plug screws, sharpie, framing pencil(my finish pencil goes in my ear), speed square, 6 adjustable wrench and 7 channel locks in the two back pockets more commonly used for cats paw and combo squares(those are in the other side of my belt), and a chalk line.

I am a carpenter and this tool belt is great for work! Highly recommend!

This pouch is awesome, plenty of room in the two front pouches (2 chalk boxes & gun oil), the tape measure is a 35’ tape and it fits perfectly, the large pouch under the tape will hold about 75 racks of gun nails (two poweraid bottles would easily fit inside). Highly recommend!
