If you use a thunderbolt , surface, or lenovo side plug docking station and you dont want to use the laptop as a monitor this is a must have. Its solid and has some heft to it so it wont move around on you or pull up when you grab your laptop. Very please with this purchase. I do IT support a for a living and trust me when i say this is a solid solution.

Works perfectly as described. Color matches the older silver MacBooks well, which is what I got it for. Great buy for the price.
