Rothco Canvas Zipper Duffle Bag

Greater than one weekFirst: I dont consider a $20 duffle bag being cheap. If the quality is good I dont care in what country its made. BUT I had it on two back packs and now on this duffle bag: The zippers are low quality and render the item unusable if they break. And for most of the time they will break. Same here: Opened the package on arrival, fabric and quality seemed to be fine. Weird smell though, but since I just need it to store equipment its no big deal. I opened the zipper and I knew right away: Junk. And when I pulled the slider all the way down I knew this was not going to last. Actually it lasted one time because one of the sliders didnt mesh the teeth together. So it was stuck. Return it is. This needs a solid metal zipper!

> 3 dayIve been using this bag for a few weeks now and I am absolutely impressed. I thought this bag was too big at first but, as it turns out, this bag is the exact size I needed. I use this for weekend trips as well as storage for clothes while Im on duty at rescue. This thing can hold all my bedding (sheets, pillows, etc.), spare clothes, and duty clothes with some spare room for extra jackets and coats. The canvas seems pretty durable. I probably wouldnt expect it to do everything that the army surplus bags could do, but for my use its as durable as it needs to be.

Greater than one weekTook this bag to a recent weekend getaway and was able to pack Everyones stuff, with room to spare. Thats a lot of stuff for a family of five! Parents know how bulky it can get to pack for three young children, and this bag addressed that problem. The reinforced handles does not disappoint either. To those who commented about the strong (fabric dye) smell, heres what I suggest you do (worked for me!) - put three scented fabric softeners inside the bag, and run a short cycle in the dryer. Your bag will not shrink, mine kept its size and shape, and was all around perfect for what I need it for. Excellent buy! -AT.

Greater than one weekThe size I ordered is listed as 21x36, which is practically a lie. Its barely 36 long if you stretch the side handles, I suppose, so I can live with that. But 21 is a ridiculous way to describe a bag that has a 12 diameter when full. If you lay the bag flat and stretch it out, its maybe 20 wide but that is a COMPLETELY EMPTY, flat bag. Imagine if you listed a cardboard box by its flat dimensions and the actual folded box was half as wide; this is basically the same thing. Quality seems acceptable, not super heavy-duty, but that is fine for the price. I was hoping for a slightly more robust zipper. I bought this because I have a large tent with a bag that is nearly impossible to fit it back into (of course). I measured my stuffed tent bag at about 12x34, so I looked at this and thought 21x36 would be significantly bigger. Nope, its really almost identical in size to my dumb tent bag. Returning, and very reluctant to exchange for the next size up because of this deception.

> 3 dayOrdered the largest size for a very specific purpose, to contain and carry the parts of a dry-wall lift. Seems well made and very durable. Its going to take a beating in and our of husbands tool trailer while we completely redo a flip house, so if it fails to hold up well, I will update this review.
