> 3 dayI just received and installed my new V4 RV lock. Arrived on time, package is excellent. Product fit well and came with all necessary pieces. One mistake that was completely user error: when I tried to pre fit the lock I dropped the metal plate on the inside of the door and could not retrieve it. However, the old metal plate fit with a minor adjustment. Programming was simple and easy to explain, my 12 year old son did all the programming and was able to explain it to me in less than 5 mins. RV lock also had great videos and the QR codes are easy to use, especially the 99 year warranty!

18-12-2024Follow up: RVLock sent me a new key fob right away. While the the warranty process was a little tedious, the process was smooth once completed and a company representative reached out to me to try and make things right. Real World Operation is pretty good. Its nice to jump out of the truck and lock and unlock the door by just a push of the button, or a push of the fob. Id recommend RVlock, just make sure you do a good job installing it and you should be just fine. Ive bumped up the rating from 3 stars to 4. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The unit comes with 2 key fobs. 1 key fob didnt work out of the box. Seems to be a bad fob or battery issue. Warranty to get a new fob was difficult. RVLOCK wanted photos and/or video of the fob not working. Jeesh, just make sure your STUFF works before you put it in the box to ship it and I wont have to spend all evening making videos. (Im waiting for a reply from warranty on the fob issue) The unit looks nice on the camper, however, Id prefer if the backing (Inside plate) was not plastic. It just sort of feels cheap. Im also wondering how the outside plastic case stands up to the sun. Will this thing turn grey in the sunlight? The unit is loud and makes an annoying noise when its operating. Seriously, youd think a company in 2022 could come up with a more pleasant sound to signal that the lock has locked or unlocked. Finally, the operation of the unit works, but it seriously sounds like plastic gears grinding and clicking as the locking mechanism engages and disengages. All in all, Im satisfied with it, works good in the driveway, but time will soon tell if it has the right stuff to remain on my rig. I give it 3 stars because for the price, I expected a nicer made keyless entry.

> 3 dayThe product itself is excellent. Quality all metal construction. Feels solid in your hands. Programming the keypad and key fobs was very simple. The real issue came when removing my existing handle. For the life of me, I could not get the plate around the existing latch and deadbolt off. Tried and failed repeatedly with my screwdriver. Then read, the manufacturer of my door may have used an adhesive, such as Loctite, to secure the screws. Read further to find a heat gun or solder would be necessary to heat up the screws and loosen them. Went and bought a soldering tool heated up the screws, but still could not get them out. Tried so hard that I eventually stripped the screws. Then went and bought a screw extractor from the hardware store. It was worthless, didnt work at all. Finally, I just decided to drill out the screws, but the screws were stainless steel, so I needed to buy a Cobalt bit. Bought a 1/4 Cobalt bit and EUREKA within a few minutes I drilled away the stripped screw head and the plate fell right off. This is no reflection on RVLOCK, the product itself is great, just a warning that if indeed your current handle manufacturer didnt go overboard in how their latch plate is attached, this install may very well take only 10 minutes. If however if your current handle was like mine, it could take you two days to install as it did me. Product is excellent but install times may vary.
