    I got this external drive for gaming storage, and this drive constantly disconnects, it always bother me while Im just browsing or playing a game, and its terrible when it disconnects while Im playing a game. Sometimes ruins the entire game.

    When I compared the speed of the T5 500 GB SSD, which Ive owned for about 15 months, with that of the T7 500 GB SSD, which I just purchased, I found, to my dismay, that the T7 is 25% slower under the same test conditions!!! To me, the speeds advertised by Samsung for the T7 are just hype. I rarely write reviews, but this purchase is extremely disappointing.

    great drive but is now only giving write speeds of 80MB/s after less than a year of use. Everything is backed up and drives sometimes fail but amazon and samsung do not provide support for a faulty product after 6 months.

    UPDATE March 29, 2022: It has now been a year and a half and it’s still going strong. I have it hooked up to my PS5 to play my PS4 games and it runs flawlessly still. This was a great purchase.

    Great product, comes with 2 usb cables USB-c usb c and usb a to usb c which makes it super handy. Does not overheat much and super lightweight.

    I would recommend using the Mac disk utility to set up the disk. I wouldnt use the included Samsung software. I had a problem with the Samsung software on a iMac M1, deleted it and went to the Mac disk utility. Very simple to format and partition the drive with the Mac software. The T7 is small and light, beautiful design and color (blue). Included are two cables, a USB A and USB C. There is a small led busy light that is on when working. The T7 sleeps when the mini sleeps and wakes up when the mini does. The T7 will get warm, not hot, with long data transfers. This is my second T7, first was a Touch, same as this but with a fingerprint sensor, that I dont use. Both are high quality construction and feel.
