Dont believe all these reviews saying this ssd allows for games to be downloaded because that is a flat out lie. Ive had this ssd for a couple months now and while yes, it does allow games to be downloaded, only certain ones are compatible with it. No AAA game i tried to download on to this would work and i tried reformatting it to the correct format to allow game installs (does not come in NTFS format out of box) and still no luck.. you would think with a brand like samsung and a price tag so high for a 1TB ssd you would expect it to work out of the box. Another thing is the app which is used to set up the ssd just doesnt work. the only thing you can do is add a password to access the ssd, But when you click on the update button it only shows a communication error with server notification. when i tried contacting samsung support, i couldnt... they have a form you fill out then submit to them telling them what is wrong, then they said they would contact me with in 24 hours and i never recieved anything.. i had the correct email on the form too because i got a confirmation email. so basically dont buy this if you are using it for game storage unless you are just super tech savvy or just love wasting money.

SO FAR IT HAS BEEN EXCELLENT.

- using a MacBook Pro 2015 with the 2TB T5 model, so I just connected, opened up Disk Utility and formatted the drive accordingly (in my case, Mac OSX extended, journaled) - no need to use whatever software came in the drive...

This external hard drive is by far the best one Ive used. I have bought many others for personal use for data backup and for expanding my game capacity on my Xbox One and this Samsung SSD outshines others such as WD and Sandisk. This product is not only small and compact, a plus in my books, but also has very easy-to-use and streamlined software included. None of the extra stuff like WD likes to force on you. Now, maybe this review is a bit skewed, as this is my first external SSD drive. But hardware aside, the software alone makes this drive better.

So far, so good, only had it for a few weeks!
