For an external drive, designed and marketed for the PS4, this drive is very fragile. The first 1st one I bought died in about a week. The replacement has lasted just over a year. I wouldnt recommend buying this as an external for a PS4 UNLESS you plan to never move the PS4.

Died after only 8 months of use. If you have one, the minute you see a message from your PS4 that the external storage is not compatible, it is because the drive is failing. I got the drive as a Christmas present last year (2018) and the drive has the year 2018 written on its label, when looking went on Seagates website and put in the serial number for the unit, it told me that it was over 2 years old and no longer in warranty. What? After contacting Seagates tech support, they said that I needed a receipt to prove that it was purchased last year. I sent them pictures of the label on the drive, and they reluctantly offered me a one-time deal of replacement. Even though I sent pictures showing the label on the drive which says 2018, they still balked at replacement of a faulty product.

Thanks to this little bad boy, I can download so many games. It’s awesome

Excellent value for money, holds all my ps4 games on my ps5 and still has plenty of room for media files
