> 3 dayThese are very good headphones but I would not recommend them for the average listener. They will show disparities in music that has not been recorded so well. As a music producer I would recommend these, if your mix sounds good on these headphones it will sound good everywhere.

> 3 dayCuffie eccezionali, bassi e medi sopra la media, alti non eccesivamente estesi ma a me piacciono così. Ascolto per niente affaticante sicuramente consigliabili. Naturalmente danno il massimo con un amplificatore dedicato.

Greater than one weekI was initially quite impressed with the robust sound. They really create a very full and thick sound, with powerful bass. Then as the initial impression wore off and I made a more careful comparison I was quite disappointed. I have Bowers and Wilkins P7s and bought these thinking I would be getting a better (i.e., bigger sound stage) headphone. They are open back and thus a wider sound stage was expected. But then I listened very carefully. I listened to the first 90 seconds of: 1) Pink Floyd Poles Apart form Division Bell (96/24 HD Tracks download), 2) Pink Floyd Hey You from The Wall 2011 Remaster (44/16 AIFF CD rip), 3, Vivaldi Four Seasons (44/16 AIFF CD Rip of Salvatores SACD), 4) Metallicas Nothin Else Matters (44/15 AIFF CD rip), and 5) Lana Del Rey Ride from Paradise (44/16 AIFF CD rip). With each of the above I experienced the same results: Bowers and Wilkins P7 had more detail, more instrument separation, and the notes on the guitar hung on like real life. With the HD 650s the notes were a bit chopped off as if someone put a dampener on them. The sound was overall a bit more muffled and the there was a lot of emphasis on the bass and midrange. Furthermore, the P7s dont require much power form the Amp. The HD650s needed to be at full volume on the headphone amp. With the P7s I could listen for a long time. With the Hd65s I could already feel my mind tiring from the more muffled sound and my head was feeling more heavy (they are heavier headphones). All in all I enjoyed the P7s more (easier on the head, more detail in the highs, and a musical experience that came closer to studio or live). These are likely being returned. I am unimpressed.

> 3 dayAs a former Beats Pro owner ( Yes I know... it was an impulse buy ) I was used to listening to my music with the base turned way up. I decided to go for something more high-brow as a replacement and after reading several reviews, I decided to go for the HD650.

> 3 dayIve had my HD 650s for three years. I listen to them mostly with an iPhone, which about half the time is with a $150 Fiio headphone amp and the rest of the time with no headphone amp. I also use them with my California Audio Labs CD player and my Linn Majik integrated amp.

> 3 dayI’ve had Bose headphones for a long while for music mixing thinking they were great - and compared to what I had before they were. But going from those to this model is an insane leap forward... 300% better is a bit of a guess but for me it is a night and day difference. My Roland Juno default piano sound went from a so-so sounding fake piano to suddenly sounding like a legit piano with these on... every little detail gets amplified. I will say I feel like I wasted money on getting an amplifier for them though as literally everything I’ve plugged these headphones into worked fine as is.. so my $250 amp has cone completely unused. By the other reviews online you would think that you’d 100% need the headphone amp but in my opinion you may want to wait till you actually find that you need it before purchasing one. I also have a pretty large head and so far haven’t had any discomfort as some others mentioned but I also haven’t worn them for more than maybe 30 mins at once. They are tight but not uncomfortably so - and there are demos on how to loosen them up if needed as well. I like how it came with both headphone jack sizes, a nice touch. In the end these were well worth it and a great price without being excessive.

> 3 dayAll that I will say is that after having Sennheiser HD424 phones I was looking for its successor. I purchased these phones and I was initially disappointed, the sound felt very base orientated, the treble detail seemed to be behind a curtain. I read reviews outside of Amazon and the majority state that they need to be burned in. I contact the manufacturer and they said that they didnt need this to happen. Travel forward 50 hours after playing music loud through them in their box and these are now a totally different headphone - absolutely hypnotic in their representation of the music.

> 3 dayBought these cans back in 05 and theyve aged better than wine. Incredible, smooth sound for hours of enjoyable sessions. Truly a great piece even with the current market selection. Slightly relaxed highs make for a non-fatiguing experience on any rig.
