Sennheiser Professional HD 280 PRO Over-Ear Monitoring Headphones

The sound quality is just excellent. Material, I dont know how long these will last.

Was considering getting a new pair just for the heck of it, but the pair I have now has to be around 10 years old and still work and sound amazing. Im not sure how they are able to make such a high quality product for such a low price, but they really are the best - I think I even paid around $200-$250 for mine nearly a decade ago.

I have to say up front, I love Sennheiser equipment. They always seem to come up with the perfect price/performance ratio that audiophiles love and Im certainly no different- and neither are these headphones. The quality is excellent. Bass packs a nice punch but is never overbearing. Mid and High tones always reach their mark and never compromise. I heavily listen to the techno, rock, and classical genres so my 280s have been through some serious variations of music and they never fail me. I wont say they sound life-like, though, only because life-like music quality is limited to sets like the $1500 Grados. Saying that, these are studio headphones. Theyre meant to be used in a studio, but they do fantastic work at my computer. Im also a heavy gamer, so comfort matters a lot as well as direction of sound. These satisfy both of these excellently- I wear these for 6-12 hours at a time sometimes and they only need to be taken off every once and a while (3 mins after two hours, tops. I also live in a very hot/humid climate so that doesnt help either) so my ears can cool down. Games, also, sound very good on these- guns sound punchy and explosions have a nice echo. So, overall, these are a fantastic pair of headphones. Mine have been going strong for about a year now and show no signs of failing. I highly recommend these if youre looking for headphones in the $100 range.

I was bowled over with delight when I put on this headset ... long ago I heard how great Sennheiser was, but hearing is believing. Super pleased with the sound and especially for the affordable price (said the guy who has also invested in Bose in the past).

Comfortable and had a pair before which I enjoyed.

I am not a sophisticated audiophile so my opinion is not not terrible informed, but I must say that I am really enjoying these headphones. I have a larger head and large pinnae and these fit comfortably on my noggin. The padding around the ears is great and does not pinch my lobes. I have these plugged into the headphone jack on my computer and the sound is excellent when listening to Pandora or Youtube music playlists.
