> 3 dayIve only owned this for a day, so Ill update this review later if I need to. I did HOURS of research in my hunt for a good vacuum that could helps us manage my husbands asthma and severe allergy to dust mites. From what Ive learned, people with allergies and asthma need vacuums with (1) a certified HEPA filter (which ensures *clean* air gets circulated out of the vacuum, rather than air full of old dust particles) and (2) a super strong suction that can pick up lots of hair, dead skins cells, and all the microscopic dust mite bodies and poop (which is what triggers dust mite allergies). Vacuums with these features can be incredibly pricey, so while I was absolutely willing to pay more, I was hoping to find something that wouldnt break the bank, if possible. Throughout my research, this vacuum came up over and over again as highly rated for allergy and asthma control and seemed to be one of the more budget-friendly options. So far, this vacuum has absolutely delivered on the features I was looking for. First, as far as I can tell, the HEPA filter is working miracles. Prior to buying this vacuum, my husband would have a horrible asthma attack every single time we vacuumed. This is the first time in a long time that hes been able to vacuum HIMSELF (or even be in the house while I vacuumed) without struggling to breath afterwards. He didnt even sneeze once afterwards. So, for anyone with allergies, this is a must have! I should note that I did need to empty the canister halfway through vacuuming because the fill-line is fairly low. I believe thats necessary to ensure the filter doesnt get overwhelmed and continues to function properly, so emptying more often is worth it to me. However, if you have allergies and no one can empty the canister for you, I would suggest looking for a vacuum with a larger canister or requires less frequent dumping. Emptying the canister definitely wasnt an ordeal - it took me maybe three minutes - but I could imagine that being challenging if I had severe allergies myself. So do keep that in mind. The second thing of note is that this picked up ALL THE HAIR. Both my husband and I have long hair, and Id honestly just come to believe that finding hair everywhere, no matter how often you vacuumed, was just a fact of life. I was hoping that this vacuum would cut down on the amount of hair left behind in our carpets, but didnt have high expectations for its ability to remove the hair that was deeply enmeshed in our carpet. (We need to get rid of our carpet anyway, but I was looking for something to hold us over until we have time to replace the flooring.) But guys, this vacuum got rid of it ALL. I rand my hands across our carpet after vacuuming, trying to pick up or feel if any hair was left, and I kid you not there was NOT ONE HAIR left behind. I could have cried. Do be aware that you will need to cut the hair off the bottom of the vacuum afterward to ensure that the bristle feature doesnt get clogged. However, that was incredibly quick and easy to do and made no mess at all. I think this is a universal truth of vacuums, but if you hate this thought, perhaps look for a vacuum that doesnt roll up the hair on its brush. I will say that UNLIKE vacuums Ive had in the past, which had lots of debris, fluff, and gunk all mixed in with the hair at the bottom, there was ONLY hair at the bottom of this vacuum (the suction is that good), which made it a really easy, mess-free cleanup. So long as it holds up well, I will be singing this vacuums praises to EVERYONE.

> 3 dayI’ve owned kirby’s and dyson’s and this budget saving Shark vacuum has far stronger suction than the expensive counterparts. From this day forward I will stick with shark for my vacuum needs.

> 3 dayFirst off, this is a really good vacuum and I would love to have given it 5 stars. The cord length is great. It does stand-up just fine. Pushes nicely over the carpet. Swivels nicely. etc. I had professional floor cleaners come through 4 days ago, and this vacuum still picked up 3 full bins of dog hair and dust. Pros: 1. Great Suction 2. Easy to push around carpet 3. great maneuverability 4. great design the way you can detach the wand and do corners and other hard to reach places quickly and with ease. 5. Long enough cord. 6. If something gets caught in the beater brush, it will turn the brush off automatically, once you pull the shoe lace out, or whatever jammed it, all you have to do is stand the vacuum up fully and then start vacuuming again. 7. It is relatively quiet. 8. Tool holder is pretty handy. 9. Nice hepa filtration. 10. Lift-away technology, so you can easily detach the beater brush and vacuum with just the canister and hose. Though I never really use the much. Its just nice to have :-) Cons: 1. Biggest complaint is the dirt bin. There is a notch that the hair can get caught, which makes it not empty as smoothly as it should. I only had this problem 1 time out of 3 emptys. My old Shark did not have this problem. See picture attached. Circled in red. 2. Its a little heavy for doing stairs (I have a lot of stairs). But its not terribly heavy by any means. 3. Like pretty much every vacuum, managing the cord is a little tricky, you should keep some slack with your pinky or fingers up by the handle, this makes it easier to manage. I also looked at the Bissel Cleanview Swivel. Which is a lot cheaper, and probably about as good, but I have 2 large German Shepherds, and I know what people are complaining about when they says the drive belt starts burning up if something gets stuck in the brush. I have have an older Bissel and had that same exact problems with it. But it still works. I also had an older Bissel that I had to throw out because the belt would fry every time you turned it on. I may get the new Bissel though to keep on a different floor of the house and compare them side-by-side. I also have a Dyson V7 cordless which is good for hardwood floors, tile etc. It does work on stairs and carpet, but nowhere near as good as this Shark (understandably so, the Dyson is just a battery vacuum, and the beater brush spins by air suction, tiny dust bin, totally different type of vacuum). I would recommend the Dyson for quick cleanups though. Take away: This is a great vacuum and has some good features that some of the other vacuums dont. It picks up the hair and dirt very nicely (I have 2 large German Shepherds). Emptying the dirt bin isnt always as smooth and easy as it should be, but I would still recommend it.

> 3 dayI have owned a Dyson and can tell you that Shark makes a great vacuum that lasted longer than the Dyson. I have 4 cats. This Shark does a great job of cleaning pet hair from furniture and carpet. I had to replace my last Shark that Id had for years. This Shark is a great vacuum for the price! I have recommended it to my daughter and friends.

> 3 dayI’ve had many cheap vacuums in the past, never finding value in spending all the money for something expensive, but after my last one broke, I decided to buy something nice. After reading the reviews and people saying that this is as good or better than a Dyson I bought it. I don’t have any personal experience with Dyson, but this thing is amazing. There was so much dust in my carpet the whole bucket filled up with one passing of just my dining room and office and a large area rug. Mind you I have another vacuum. It only broke a few days ago , this thing is insane!!!
