That app you have to use to hook them up. Stops working when you try to add the device.

I am using this smart plug with my Alexa echo dot. It is to connect and response time is pretty quick. also doesn’t take any space much space on my regular plug.

I received 2 of these as a gift. I have a bunch of plugs from other manufacturers that pair and work reliably. These Tenda Beli plugs are not configurable. It takes forever for my phone to connect to them. Once connected, they never connect to my wifi so they are useless. Customer service is non-existent. They provide a toll free number to call, but no one is ever available. You can leave messages all day long and never get a return answer.

You have to download the Tenda app. Theres no getting around that. Once the plug is synced and you have the steady blue light, you can take the plug, put it in whatever outlet you want...like its ready to go. I wanted the plug to control a floor lamp, and for Alexa to control IT. I needed to download the Alexa app too, which Id had previously, but disabled because it conflicted with my car Bluetooth and gym app. So I re-downloaded the Alexa app, and followed the Alexa app instructions to tell it to communicate with the Tenda app/plug. Once the two apps were communicating, I told Alexa to make a command to run BOTH smart plugs and floor lamps: Alexa, turn on the lights. (Id already had a smart plug/lamp setup from before, so I was basically adding a second plug/lamp setup.) So now when I say, Alexa, turn on the lights, she turns on both smart plugs which turns on both lights. When I got that working, I just went ahead and uninstalled the Tenda app and Alexa app again. Retested the lamp command (for both on and off) and bingo, both lamps come on and off with no issues. So its proof that you DONT need the Tenda or Alexa app once youve got your plugs synced. Id be sitting in the dark if this wasnt true!
