    Greater than one week

I was suggested to read this book. I started to read the first four chapters and I had to put it down. I couldnt go any further. The anguish was too great for me. After a couple of days I picked it up again and paragraph by paragraph stepped through the anguish the father was experiencing. On his journey he makes a decision that puts him in touch with people who really changes his life and feeling of so much anger, hatred and getting even with the cause of the recent past. The book puts word pictures in your mind which makes the book much more understanding than the movie. The descriptions of the surroundings actions of what is going on with the people he met, makes him confused at first. All of this is going to come together later on. One is the doing the cooking at the Shack, one is working in a shed, working on a wood project and the other is working in the garden. The garden is a mess but she asks him (the father) to help her with a project she is working on. They finish their work and the soil is ready for a new planting. What are you going to plant here? The father asks. Youll see. One of those books you just cant put down. Even those first few chapters were difficult for me, I am a father too. The love for your children makes you want to do only the best for them. Even when one of your children goes missing, youre not going to stop until you find the answer. A very intriguing and exciting story of people who are struggling with their faith. Ive offered this book to many other people I know, but they said they already read it.

Yet again another amazing film. This one came In good condition and played well. The only issue is the digital copy is selective to what platform you can use, but since this movie is such a good film to watch…it is worth just having the blu ray disc.

This movie is surprisingly relevant to me in many ways. It caused me to question my perspective and take a closer look at my belief system. Inspiring and creative. For anyone who has lost a loved one and questioned God there will be tears of sadness and tears of joy. If you long to live a joyful life and have a deep sadness I pray for God to bring you healing and joy through forgiveness and a nearer walk with Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit. The Shack is a story of Gods desire to love and be His children.

When I first heard that there was a new movie coming out in theaters called The Shack, I immediately looked to see if it was based on a book. Im someone who prefers to read the book first since I love to read. I read the book and LOVED it so I planned to see the movie as well. I finally got a chance to watch it last night and had to give myself time to think about it before I wrote a review on it. The Shack is based on William P. Youngs bestselling novel about a man who goes on a spiritual journey. Mackenzie (Mack) Philips (Sam Worthington) loses his youngest daughter after a tragedy and he blames himself for it. He enters a time he calls The Great Sadness and wonders where God was when his daughter was taken and why would He allow such a thing to happen. Mack receives a mysterious note from Papa, the name his wife uses for God, asking him to meet Him at the shack deep in the wilderness of Oregon. After much deliberation, Mack heads there and embarks on the most soul-searching, trans-formative spiritual journey he has ever experienced. In addition to Sam Worthington, some other notable actors and actresses in this movie include Octavia Spencer who plays Papa and Tim McGraw who plays Macks best friend, Willie. This movie is approximately 132 minutes long and is rated PG-13 for thematic material including some violence. It can be watched in English and Spanish 5.1 Dolby Digital Audio, English Descriptive Audio, Spanish Subtitles, and English SDH. I had already read the book when I watched this movie last night and I cried when reading it so I knew it would make me emotional but I didnt expect to cry during almost the entire movie. The Shack is definitely one of those movies that left me emotionally-satisfied and, if you are a crier, I would definitely grab a box of tissues before watching this. I thought the acting was phenomenal and I loved how beautifully this movie was done. I feel it followed the book pretty closely so if you are mostly interested in watching the movie instead of reading the book, I think you will still be able to really enjoy it. Im glad I read the book first so I knew what to expect and it was nice to see how the movie was done, as opposed to how I pictured it in my mind. If youve read the book and loved it, I highly recommend watching the movie. Its not scary necessarily and the violent acts arent shown. Most of the violence is hinted at based on our knowledge of the subject (a child abduction) but there are a few things shown after everythings happened. Those parts were hard to watch but the rest of the movie was so good that I will definitely watch it again. I have a friend who is eager to see this as well since we both loved the book!

I was leery of watching this because Ive heard mixed reviews on this movie. So I asked for discernment and asked God to show me anything I might learn from this movie and help me not to be deceived in any ways from this film. In the first 15 minutes or so it didt feel quite right. But I stepped back from the literal interpretation of it, and seeing the bigger picture I can see it as a good way to explain Gods love for all of us. It didnt delve into evil really at all, which makes it a bit incomplete to me. One main message of this movie was that bad things are allowed because of Gods mercy and love for each of us, even those who do wrong or bad things. While that is truth, it is not the complete picture. Perhaps that aspect was left out because many or most Christians really dont take spiritual warfare seriously. Since we battle not with flesh and blood but against spirits and principalities (Ephesians 6:12), including that may have made it a truer picture. I didnt really think it was necessary to make God a female in the role, I think a male could have gotten the same message across. But that part really wasnt important, it was seeing the attributes of God that was the message, that He is loving and with us always. I am glad they included the message about forgiving others

There are no words to describe this movie......except watch it. Best movie I have ever had the privilege of watching. I am in awe on how this movie was directed, the book that this movie was based on and the incredible way the movie depicted Gods love.
