Its not often I read a fantasy book and enjoy it. When I first read the synopsis, I was a little worried that it was going to be `yet another vampire book. The calibre of the authoring makes this one a cut above the rest and I eagerly await the next instalment. I am recommending it to all my friends and they too are impatiently waiting for the next book to be written. The writing is superb. The author really excites the imagination, by transporting the reader to the world of the twins and the supernatural world they have been flung into. The book appeals both to young adults and adults, making it the perfect book to read and talk about together. I would recommend this book for any parent who wants to encourage their young adult to read.

Though it was geared towards a YA crowd I found myself caught up in the story line and truly disappointed when the book ended. I cant wait for the sequel! Jack and Violet are teenage characters that could turn into typical stereotypes but they retain a reality and likability throughout the book. The use of vampires, werewolves, fairies, witches and warlocks was smartly underdone to let the reader get to learn about the backstory of the teens. You know the other beings are there but they dont overshadow. Their supernatural abilities are brought to the foreground at the end, when the reader is comfortable with their presence. I cant wait to see how the next book develops everyone.

I cant add much more than what has been said in previous reviews. I purposely waited several weeks after reading the book to see how I felt. Did I truly care about the characters? Am I in anticipation for the next book? Do I remember significant details about the book and its characters? I can say yes to all 3. As someone else mentioned. It could have been longer. I think there are parts of the story and characters that I think could have been flushed out more. Overall it was an enjoyable and quick read. Nice addition to the world of Young Adult fiction. I look forward to the rest of the series. The following comment has nothing to do with the Author but with the Amazon publishing: Ive had the book about 2 months a few weeks after purchasing the book the plastic covering on the book jacket started peeling and I think it only stopped because I finished the book. The book has not gotten wet or been exposed to extreme temperatures. Im not sure if it was a batch issue or what.

Let me start out by saying, I can not believe that a major publishing house hasnt picked this book/series up! Twin Prophecies follows high school sophomores Violet Ross and Jack Morrow who are strangers until secrets begin to unfold that bring them together. They both struggle with abilities they have kept hidden from everyone around them. Violet is an empath, Jack can see the future when he touches people. As circumstances throw them together, they learn to trust one another and find they arent as alone as each of them had thought. Guided by prophecies predicting the end of the world, the mysterious Dr. Tesla - who leads an alliance of supernatural beings - helps Jack and Violet come to terms with this secret world, control the growing powers within them, and face an unspeakable evil determined to possess their very souls. When I first picked the book up and started reading I had my doubts. As I read the first page I thought to myself, oh no, shes going to describe the town and every little secret ever kept. Then I turned the page and nearly laughed out loud. I was hooked from that point on! This book is well written and flows easily from one scene to the next. Nina Perez did an outstanding job developing the story and has left me sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for more!

Ninas book kept me engrossed over three fast-paced nights. From the first page onwards I was caught up in Violets and Jacks world. From the death of their parents to their discovery of hidden powers, and the threats to their lives because of their heritage, Ms Perez doesnt let her debut novel sag at any stage. She populates the story with believable but impossible characters. We have fairies, werewolves, vampires and witches, some allied with humanity, others not, all central to a conspiracy that will have a devastating impact not only on Violet and Jack, but perhaps on the human race, too. Ms Perez has a flair for dialogue and plot twists and is in no doubt where she intends to take her characters and ourselves, her readers. For what has been described as Twilight meets Harry Potter, The Twin Prophesies is the start of something special. Read it.

I found this book to be predictable and unoriginial. In this era of supernatural fiction it rang a little blah to me. Nothing too snazzy or new to add to the subject. Came off a bit cliche. Also, I found the book to be a bit slow and then POW! we get to the climax without much work-up. And the climax ended just as quickly as it began. I think Nina Perez has potentional and, with time, could be a great writer.

I really enjoyed this story a lot. I hope Ms. Perez comes out with book two quick- book one it leaves you hanging wanting the next, like there should have been another 100 pages. This would have been an instant buy book two NOW if it had been available. I am left to wonder what happens to Violet and Jack- who the mole in the trust is...Ms. Sweet possibly? Kalina maybe? Mr. Gervais? until the next book comes out. I need to check the authors blog to see when the nextt is due out- maybe there is a email notification list.

At first, I was worried this book was going to be another paranormal romance, but I was pleasantly surprised that it wasnt at all. Its marketed for YA, but as a grown adult, I enjoyed it too. It only took two days to read it, because I could not put it down. Excellent book, especially for a debut author. I dont read a lot of fantasy, but the storyline was original to me. I saw it as sort of like Harry Potter meets the good parts of Twilight, with some fancy technology thrown in. The dialogue was natural, not annoying and unrealistic like a lot of other authors, and though its not meant to be a comedy, its got just enough jokes in just enough places. My only complaint about the book is that it wasnt long enough. I wanted more! Cant wait for the sequel.
