Ive been using the WD BLACK 1TB SN850 with OEM heatsink since late last year without any problems. Installation was pretty easy; the main thing to keep in mind is that the PS5 case cover is attached with L-shaped hooks. So, the removal motion is more of a slide horizontally THEN an upwards pull. Sonys instructions make it look like its a combined motion.

Bought this M.2 SSD for my PS5, with the heatsink included (which is very high quality for stock) the process of installing was easier than it sounds. The memory actually is a little more than 1tb so formatting for PS5 didnt leave me with less than I payed for. Overall better than I anticipated and Ive been eyeing this since the PS5 SSD beta went out

So I went with this after researchig the best drive for a PS5. Ordered a separate heat sink which was pretty cheap. After installing the heat sink, and watching several how-to YouTube tutorials, I installed it and its been working fine. (I highly recommend watching installation vids, its simple enough but some screw removal can be tricky) Also due to shortages of chips, processors and who knows what else in the PC/gamer world, the price inflation on these is a bit high. SSDs arent cheap to begin with, but Ive been seeing prices rise, especially on the actual WD website so thats my only negative comment. If you can find it at a decent price, snag it because a week later I guarantee it wont be that same price again.

Its a game changer. Im no longer concerned about storage space for my PS5. The games load even faster and its easy to install. If you have no clue how to install in, just watch some YouTube videos. It took me 5-10 mins, but I can do it faster, if need be. The only issue I had was with my 1st purchase of the same product. It was faculty from the start. I got a replacement, free of charge and had not 1 problem, since. Ive had it for about two months.

The hardest part was getting the ps5 case off and on. You will need a small screwdriver to install the ssd. Transferring games was very fast.

Item arrived safely and earlier than indicated ETA. Item just worked off the bat upon installation. It has been over a month now since I first used it. Very happy with its performance so far. Hopefully it will last a while.
