If you are like me and dont want to rely on the cloud for your storage needs these M2 PCIe devices offer a reasonable way to upgrade your PC storage. They dont fit into the normal PCIe expansion slot but a much smaller slot which is really a part of your PCs SATA offering. That means you lose access to one of your normal SATA ports if you fit one of these devices. However, they are just like a normal SSD in terms of their read and write speeds.

doesnt comes with a screw to hold the ssd in place without which it is impossible to install this an any computer/laptop. I had to use one of the crews from my panel and even that was a little long but was okay to hold it in place

I purchased this drive a year ago for nearly 100 less. It was a good price/performance ratio. Now it’s 300 it’s the same price as the 970 evo plus. A drive that’s twice as fast along with 50 percent more TBW rating. It’s the V6 of the line up. Now that they want V8 money it’s not worth a second look.

I benchmarked my PC and this M.2 SSD rated in the top 5% for performance. This is excellent. The brand has a long history of making the best hard disk drives, and they have obviously continued that dedication to quality with their SSDs. Its a great choice.

Western Digital is my go-to brand for reliability when it comes to storage. The NVMe SSD is no different. It arrives securely packaged, its super-easy to install, and gives as-expected I/O speeds. I use this as my primary OS/install drive and my larger normal SSD for day-to-day storage, and the gaming experience I have is superb. Definitely recommend this if youre looking to upgrade.
