This is a large and sturdy backpack. Its slightly bigger than your average backpack with lots of pockets. It holds a lot and although the material is lightweight, it seems sturdy and strong. There are lots of pockets and has a cool USB port. The straps are adjustable and comfy and the laptop pocket is padded nicely. I recommend this bag for an everyday bag!

Lets get something out of the way right up front: it doesnt claim water resistance and it definitely is not. I poured a little water on it and it immediately soaked in. Since it didnt claim water resistance Im not going to knock off a star, but it is a little disappointing that it doesnt offer at least some resistance. That said, this bag has everything else: lots of pockets, copious amounts of padding where you expect it, carrying handle, water bottle pockets, and USB and headphone passthrough. There are credit card slots with RFID protection, detachable keyring, durable outer fabric, and full lining. The laptop pocket is right where it should be, against the back. The laptop pocket is easily big enough for a 15 laptop and offers great protection. Between the padded shoulder straps is a hanging loop, too, so you dont have to use the carrying handle to hang the bag. There are also small reflectors on the sides of the bag and one of the shoulder straps. This bag sweats the small details. The only thing missing--besides water resistance--is a more durable bottom fabric.

XJ-HOME 18.4 Extra Large Travel Laptop Backpack is really awesome and well made..the material is quality and water resistant..I was surprised on the amount of items it could hold..it took two laptops, a tablet and their chargers.. including some little other items..I am really impressed by it and would recommend it..it reduced the amount of bags I usually carry to travel..

Ive used a Dakine 55L carry-on bag for years that has been my go-to travel bag and was in need of another option. That 55L mark is pretty much the maximum you can get away with for a carry-on and I wanted to ensure I continued to get something of this size. This is a decent option and of good quality with lot of storage options. Im partial however to the sideways clamshell design like my Dakine bag. This does open up completely but from top to bottom - like splitting the backpack in half, hinging at the bottom of the bag. The 55L storage is great. Nice padded pocket for a laptop. Plenty of storage for clothes and other electronics as well. This is a great option for a big carry-on especially if you like the backpack style bags.

Ive been using this backpack for about a month now and I like that it is well-made and durable. I got it as a replacement for a name-brand backpack that I wore the zipper out on one of the compartments. my old one had more compartments and pockets so that is the only ding I would give the XJ-HOME Travel Laptop Backpack, Backpack For Men and Women with USB Charging/Headphone Port. I have not had the need to use the USB charging/Headphone port and Im not sure Ill ever use those features so I cant rate them. This backpack has three external zippered compartments. The outer compartment has two interior pockets with one of those pockets having two pockets piggybacked on it, no zippers on any of those interior pockets, a tether with a detachable key ring, and a pass-through for running a USB charging cord and headphone cord through if you chose to store a device in the backpack while strapped on your back. The middle zippered compartment has an actual USB Charging Port on the outside and the cord on the inside with one unzippered pocket big enough for a cell phone below it. The back zippered compartment has The Laptop pocket with a strap that has a velcro clasp to secure your laptop. The Laptop pocket has one wide unzippered pocket piggybacked onto it. Over all this is a good backpack and comparable to name brands that cost way more. This backpack is definitely worth buying.

As this school year comes to a close as of the writing of this review, Im already thinking about the next school year. Both of my kids will need new backpacks because they are so rough on them. This one will be for a 6th grader who needs to carry around a chromebook and the thousand other things he never takes out of his backpack. Its got a charging port for a phone if you keep a power bank in the backpack, and my kid always seems to have less than 10% charge on his phone somehow. So that will come in handy. Also, there is a special side pocket for the optional power bank. I like that feature, because in my own work backpack I have to use one of the available pouches for my power bank, ultimately limiting how much I can carry. No such issue with this backpack. He likes the minimalistic look and seems happy that this will be his backpack for the next year. Its got lots of compartments, seems well made, and hopefully will last the whole next school year.

I have a larger than average 17 inch gaming laptop. I have always had problems finding a bag that fits these laptops and have been using a bag that cost me over $100 simply because it would fit. This bag is a fantastic replacement at a fraction of the cost! First let me list the bad, since there isnt much. The two things that could use improvement are both padding issues. While the straps are padded, they arent padded very thickly. This bag carries a LOT and can get heavy so extra padding on the straps would help. There is also no padding at the bottom of the bag to protect the laptop should you accidentally drop the bag. Its only happened to me once so not a deal breaker for this bag. Now for the good stuff. This bag EASILY holds my laptop with plenty of extra room left over. In fact, there is a TON of storage inside the bag. There are four zippered main compartments. The rear is for laptops but can also fit other stuff. The main compartment is just a wide open space with 2 mesh pockets. There is also a cable that will allow you to keep a power bank inside (there is a pocket to keep the charger tucked nicely against the side of the inner bag). The cable is connected to a USB port on the outside of the bag so its nice and neat and you dont have to carry the battery in your pocket. The next compartment contains a key ring, an RFID blocking set of pockets for credit cards as well as a zippered mesh pockets. The last compartment is up front and is a small space with two pockets. In addition, there are two pockets on either side that hold water bottles and a strap to hold them in place should you be using larger ones. The front has a carabiner so you can clip something there (my daughter loves to clip plush toys on hers). On the back of the bag there is a hidden zippered pocket that would be able to fit a tablet. I plan on using it to keep my passport, extra cash and other important stuff so that it is out of the reach of possible pickpockets. A nice touch. If you are travelling, the bag allows you to unzip the laptop pocket and open the backpack so that it is laying completely flat. This will allow TSA to check your laptop without having to remove it from the bag. It does take up a LOT of space when you do that so be aware. Overall, I really love the backpack. I could only rate it a 4 or 5 but I think its actually a 4.5 star product. It holds everything I need (and has room for plenty more!), feels well made and is a fraction of the cost of my previous bag. I think this is a great buy, especially if you like to travel with only a single bag.

There material and construction is well done. The stitching over most of the stitch lines is single stitching but at stress points there is double or more stitch layers to better secure those areas. The USB and Headset pass through areas have an additional structural support piece stitched in to keep the pass through cords from starting a fabric rip. The exterior material is a tight weave with a slick nylon feel. This should provide decent water resistance, though not a waterproof item by any means. This isnt meant to be a dry bag. The outermost pocket has several internal sorting pockets for pens, battery packs, cell phones, and a rack for several credit size cards in an RFID protecting fabric. In the top right part of this pocket is a quick connect with ring for keys or fobs to keep them easy to find and access. The external USB and Headset pass throughs lead to this pocket. The next pocket is a large pocket with an small side pocket on the bottom part of the side, probably for a battery pack. This pocket has a hardwired USB cord inside leading to a USB-A connector on the outside of the pack. The external port mount has a durable material around the port which is double stitched into the fabric for stability. The next large pocket is divided with a cell with light padding which would work well for holding a laptop or tablet. This padded pocket is on the exterior wall directly contacting the wearer without any rigid support piece to keep the wearer body position from directly torquing the laptop or tablet. It is probably the best place for protecting the laptop from external damage as well as from other objects within the pack. For casual protection this will likely work fine. If you are concerned for damage to the laptop/tablet, then a proper laptop case might be a better option. Depending on the size of the laptop, a rigid protective sleeve over the laptop before inserting into the padded pocket might give you more confidence. For a backpack model including a laptop pocket, this pack is among the better versions. A piece I dont understand is the product page points out a reflective in the dark tab. This tab only exists on the right shoulder strap. If visibility is a marketing point these reflective tabs should be on all sides. If you commonly walk at night, reflective surfaces are probably a really good idea. This tab thing isnt a point to deduct from rating, just a curiosity raised in their marketing. The external hydration pockets are nice as well. If you are using short bottles, like .5 liter or pints they will be fine. If you are using a larger bottle then having a securing strap above the pocket would be helpful. Overall, a nicely constructed pack with many well thought through options.
