I love the kit I got, dont get me wrong, but I didnt realize the main line isnt that hard plastic type. Its a softer one, and you can not get this punch through it. It will stretch and stretch and stretch. Yep, I tried it to that degree. Not a single hole. It didnt hold the 1/4 line like its suppose to, either. So you can install the ends and such? Nope. I might be an idiot though, so .....

Who knew gardeners had special tools for adding lines to the drip system. This makes it so easy. I am so excited to find this. Just added some new lines and the holes were the right size and it was easy to get the pieces inserted. How cool is this!

perfect tool for punching holes on 1/2 inch drip hose.

I prefer the type that cuts out a plug of the tube instead of this spike.

The handle makes punching holes easier but its not quite useful when it comes to inserting the line as the tool does not grip the very well.

For those of us older gardeners with arthritic hands, this helps to install 1/4” hose with barbed fittings into 1/2” drip hose.
